Brothers, please be careful not to condemn brothers who are preaching Jesus, and Him crucified. I believe they are sincere in their desire to expose the truth of faith in God's Word, and that God expects, nay, demands faith from all believers, in Him Heb. 11:16, and his word, John 14:23, 24 Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. 253 John 14:24 "He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father's who sent Me. So you see God does expect us to be creatures of faith, not of flesh, but therein lies the problem. Most "Christians", the true believers as well as the pretenders, are falling into the same trap that the early church suffered from. We have operated so long in the flesh that it's difficult for us to yield to our spirit, when God is trying to guide us by His Spirit. Furthermore, today's "Church" has been reduced to trying to explain and impart spiritual truths intellectually. Spiritual things are learned through spiritual experiences, not through academic proliferation. You do realize, of course, that there was no written New Testament for years and years after Jesus was taken back to heaven. The early believers operated in supernatural faith or we, you and I, would not have the bible in the form it is in today. It wasn't until men began translating the bible, an acedemic undertaking, that there were difficulties with understanding what God had said. If we spent more time in our fellowships helping people to understand the spiritual things there would be less arguing about things like having faith in faith as opposed to having faith in God. When you operate in the spirit, there is no need for translation. God imparts His will and wisdom and power through His Spirit to us when we meet Him spiritually, as opposed to intellectually. I am not advocating doing away with the written word, but rather placing it in it's proper perspective. I own an automobile. It came with a manufacturer's handbook that explains how everything works, and when I am ready to go somewhere, after having read the handbook, I get into the car and drive to my destination. I don't drive the handbook, it was merely the instruction book on how the vehicle functions, and that's what the bible is meant to be, a handbook on how to live in the sprit. Read the handbook, and go try out doing what it tells you to do. I assure you if you do that you will quickly become a proponent of believing God's word literally. Now I will concede that men are are just men and somtimes, who knows for what reason, God knows, they have a tendency to overstate God's word in their enthusiasm, and that may not be the best thing to do, but at least they are trying to impart spiritual knowledge to fleshly beings as if to transform them into spiritual creatures. The brothers who are part of the Word Fellowships, aren't try to misdirect people away from God, they are merely trying to get through to people who haven't yet yielded to God's Spirit to the degree required for them to be able to function as spiritual beings. Certainly a brother or two may run too far with a doctrine, or a tenet in his enthusiasm, but this should not be a reason to tear him/them down. These are your brothers and sisters in the Lord, and you are going to spend eternity with them, or at least I hope you are born again and baptised in the Holy Spirit, so that will be true. If you want to expose truth to the brethren I suggest you find someone who is preaching heresy, and reveal the truth about them. In Paul's second letter to Timothy he explains who it is to look out for. 2 Tim 3:1 But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. 2 Tim 3:2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, 2 Tim 3:3 unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, 2 Tim 3:4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 2 Tim 3:5 holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these. 2 Tim 3:6 For among them are those who enter into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses, 2 Tim 3:7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 2 Tim 3:8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, rejected in regard to the faith. Be very careful brothers that you too might not be opposing the very work of God the Father. I trust you will prayerfully consider what I have shared with you. En Agape, Jim |

You posted this: ...Brothers, please be careful not to condemn brothers who are preaching Jesus, and Him crucified. This is what WoF teachers are teaching: Joyce Meyers: I no longer sin "I'm going to tell you something folks, I didn't stop sinning until I finally got it through my thick head I wasn't a sinner anymore. And the religious world thinks that's heresy and they want to hang you for it. But the Bible says that I'm righteous and I can't be righteous and be a sinner at the same time...All I was ever taught to say was, 'I'm a poor, miserable sinner.' I am not poor, I am not miserable and I am not a sinner. That is a lie from the pit of hell. That is what I was and if I still am then Jesus died in vain. Amen" (Doctrinal Ambiguity of a Wandering Star-The Changing views of Joyce Meyer, G. Richard Fisher and Paul R. Belli) There is no hope of anyone going to heaven unless they believe this truth I am presenting. You cannot go to heaven unless you believe with all your heart that Jesus took your place in hell" (The Most important Decision You will Ever Make, 1991, Joyce Meyer). "His spirit went to hell because that is where we deserved to go. Remember in the very beginning of this, I said, 'When you die, only your body dies. The rest of you, your soul and spirit, goes either to heaven or hell'" (Ibid.). "During that time He entered hell, where you and I deserved to go (legally) because of our sin. He paid the price there...no plan was too extreme...Jesus paid on the cross and in hell" (Ibid., pg. 35). "Jesus went to hell for you" (Ibid., pg. 38). Haggin: Prayer is 'Negative Confession'? "Many times you lose by praying! You lose by turning in your prayer requests. That might startle you, but what you are doing is confessing, I don't have it" (Ibid., pg. 180). Copeland: Jesus died Spiritually? (JDS) "The righteousness of God was made to be sin. He accepted the sin nature of Satan in His own spirit. And at the moment that He did so, He cried, 'My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken Me?' You don't know what happened at the cross. Why do you think Moses, upon instruction of God, raised the serpent upon that pole instead of a lamb? That used to bug me. I said, "Why in the world would you want to put a snake up there-the sign of Satan? Why didn't you put a lamb on the pole?' And the Lord said, 'Because it was a sign of Satan that was hanging on the cross.' He said, 'I accepted, in My own spirit, spiritual death; and the light was turned off.'" (Christianity in Crisis, Hank Hanegraaff, Harvest House, Oregon, pp. 157-158). Jesus had to go through that same spiritual death in order to pay the price. It wasn't the physical death on the cross that paid the price for sin. Because if it had of been any prophet of God that had died for the last couple of thousand of years before that could have paid that price. It wasn't physical death. Anybody could do that." ("What Satan saw on the day of Pentecost" tape #02-0022) "He am healing. He am deliverance. He am financial prosperity, mental prosperity, physical prosperity, family prosperity. It's terrible grammar, but you understand what I'm saying. I'm saying it to effect my mind. He am whatever He hath to be. Because he said he'd meet my needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus and I'm walking around saying, 'Yes my needs are met according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Glory to God. I'm cousin and kin to the need maker. I'm cousin and kin to the need meeter. I'm cousin and kin to the I AM. Hallelujah. [applause] And I say this with all respect so that it don't upset you too bad. But I say it anyway. When I read in the Bible where he says "I AM" I just smile and say, "I AM too." [applause] ("Believers Voice of Victory" broadcast, TBN 7/9/87). Paul Crouch: I refuse to argue any longer with any of you out there. Don't even call in if you want to argue doctrine. If you want to straighten somebody out over here. If you want to criticize Ken Copeland for his preaching on faith or Dad Hagen. Get out of my life. I don't want to even talk to you or hear you. I don't want to see your ugly face. Get out of my face in Jesus' name" ("Praise-a-thon" TBN, recorded 04/02/91 I want to say to all you scribes, Pharisees, heresy hunters, all of you that are going around picking little bits of doctrinal error out of everybody's eyes and dividing the body of Christ and arguing over splinters and doctrinal hairs and dissipating and wasting all of our time when the world is all going to hell. I say "Get out of God's way! Quit blocking God's bridges! Or God's gonna shoot you if I don't" ("Praise-a-thon" TBN, recorded 04/02/91). Part1 |

Are you saying that this of of God? That this is preaching Jesus and His cross? (The cross is part of who Jesus is) I amwondering if you know what the WoF is actually teaching? Also JW's preach a Cross (Actually to them its a stake) and a Jesus does this mean they are right? WoF do teach faith but not a Godly faith, Its a Personal faith not given by God but it is given to you by you only speaking. I see the sick things these people are teaching and it makes me squirm, I write these people asking them to give me scripture proof of some of there claims. I never gotten a letter back or E-mail, except a letter stating that if I give money now it will be given back to me 100 fold. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 2 Timothy 4:3-4(KJV) God Bless you, Darcy Munn |

Does a Christian have miraculous power or not? Jesus seemed to think so. 1. Matt 17:20 And He *said to them, "Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you. 2.Mark 9:23 And Jesus said to him, "'If You can?' All things are possible to him who believes 3.Matt 21:21 And Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' it will happen. 4.Mark 11:23 "Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him. 5. Matt 18:19 "Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. 6.Matt 21:22 "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." 7.John 14:13 "Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 262 John 14:14 "If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it. 8.John 15:7 "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 9.John 16:23 "In that day you will not question Me about anything. Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you. John 16:24 "Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full. John 16:25 "These things I have spoken to you in figurative language; an hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but will tell you plainly of the Father. John 16:26 "In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I will request of the Father on your behalf; John 16:27 for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came forth from the Father. Perhaps some of the wise brethren who condemn the brothers in the Word of Faith Churches for having faith would be kind enough to tells us which of these statements made by the Master are not supossed to be believed, ..... literally. Are we supposed to be poor and sick or prosperous and well? 1.Matt 7:7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 2.Mark 4:24 And He was saying to them, "Take care what you listen to. By your standard of measure it will be measured to you; and more will be given you besides. 3.Luke 6:38 "Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure--pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return." 4.Matt 6:30 "But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith 5.Matt 9:29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, "It shall be done to you according to your faith." 6.Matt 14:31 Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and *said to him, "You of little faith, why did you doubt?" 7.Matt 15:28 Then Jesus said to her, "O woman, your faith is great; it shall be done for you as you wish." And her daughter was healed at once. 8.Matt 21:21 And Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' it will happen. 9.Mark 4:40 And He said to them, "Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?" 10.Mark 10:52 And Jesus said to him, "Go; your faith has made you well." Immediately he regained his sight and began following Him on the road. 11.Luke 7:50 And He said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace." What was that word the Master kept using? Oh yes FAITH. It seems He thought it very important. In Fact He said, Luke 18:7 now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them? Luke 18:8 "I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?" Not on this forum, I'm afraid. Continued: |

"Did Jesus promise to give us literally anything we ask for in faith?" "No. This is a Word-Faith misinterpretation of Mark 11:23,24. "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." There are limitations on what God will give, indicated by the broader context of Scripture." "To begin, God will not literally give us anything we ask. Some things are actually impossible. For example, God cannot grant a request of a creature to be God. Neither can He answer a request to approve of our sin. God will not give us a stone if we ask for bread, nor will He give us a serpent if we ask for fish (Matt. 7:9,10)." "When the rest of Scripture is taken into consideration, there are many conditions placed on God's promise to answer prayer in addition to faith. We must "abide in Him" and let His Word "abide in us" (John 15:7). We cannot "ask amiss" out of our own selfishness (James 4:3). Furthermore, we must ask "according to His will" (1 John 5:14). Even Jesus prayed, "Father, if it is possible, let this cup [His death] pass from Me" (Matt. 26:39). We must ever keep in mind that on all except God's unconditional promises, this "if it be Your will" must always be stated or implied."
