No church has the authority to add or subtract to the bible. And there is only one true church. That church is made up of the true saints as told in revelation. They are the ones that keep the commandments.

Dear Commandment keeper, Are you in your boat? Which commands do you keep? BradK |

I don't see the reason for that. I don't own a boat. I keep all ten commandments, including the fourth as written. I suggest you look them up. I am amazed when I se protests about posting them on a courthouse wall, etc. The ones protestng only believe in nine of them, amd prefer to break one of them, namely the fourth. |

You keep all of the commandments? Don't you know that there has only been one who has not transgressed the law? You are not Him. If you claim to keep all of the commandments, why did He have to die for you? WOS |

No, I try to keep all of them. Yes, we have all sinned except one. But does that tell us to continue in sin? Sin is the transgression of the law. All ten commandments. Are you suggesting we should not obey them to the best of our ability?

Hi, Commandmentkeeper... It is important that you understand that we believe in the authority of Scripture over anything else, including Ellen White. Furthermore, if you'll note the message at the top of the screen, our participation in the forum is predicated on not pushing one's denominational bias. Since you keep commandments so well that you need to advertise that ability by taking a screen name to that effect, I'm sure that you'll want to demonstrate your self-control by exercising future restraint. Indeed, given our experience with your ilk, that will impress us more than you can imagine. In Him, Doc |

Where have I ever mentioned Ellen G White? I am writing plainly enough. Can you read at all? I have quoted scripture out of the Bible. Just to make it very clear. I do not belong to any organized church. I do not attend any manmade church. Why are you being so presumptious? Why are you speaking of my ilk? Where have I offended except by quoting what the scripture says? I do believe you should look at this message of yours and ask if you are excersizing what you suggest. You seem to take offense because I have spoken truth, and it hurts. Don't kill the messanger. I think you were in SDA. I was a child in that church. I saw EGW worship, not the Bible. I left as a teen ager. But I did not refuse to obey the Bible because I was enamored with SDA. I thnk you have made a grave mistake. You now attend a place that teaches not to keep all commandments, but it is a pleasant place. You are still following men, not the Bible. I think you are showing anger to me because I have perked your conscience. Ask yourself. Do I beliebve I should keep the commandments? All of them? Even the fourth? I think deep down ,you know the answer. I have been there. For years, I shied away from the truth. I am now seventy nine, At the age of fifty, I had an experience that brought me back to the truth. It is my hope that all could experience that. It is something so wonderful. My sisters are still SDA. THEY DO KEEP CHRISTMAS. What makes you think I follow them after all my messages to the contrary? Am I wrong to quote directly from the Bible? Show me why I should not. Bless you |

Dear Commandmentkeeper, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control;" (Galatians 5:22-23a ESV) That self-control part seems to escape notice of a lot of people. Since it is all a single aspect of "walking by the Spirit," failure in one area is failure in the whole. No, young man, my conscience is not "perked," nor is it pricked, nor, even, is my interest piqued! :-) We frequently get people who come onto the forum making sweeping statements and asserting their own correctness. I think we've had around 20 of them this year, theonomists of one form or another. Peculiar to them all is a mono-thematic approach to the Scripture. Instead of learning how the forum operates or asking any questions, they respond with broad and sweeping statements, inevitably causing tumult with very little "meat" for discussion. If you'd like to see their posts, use the search option and enter "commandments of men." That's another common feature: any aspect of orthodoxy or orthopraxy they disagree with they decry as commandments of men; although few of them have any familiarity with church history or thought. (As I said, mono-thematic.) They also seem quite fond of ad hominem arguments. Try to stay calm and discuss things in a rational way. If that is not possible, we can assist you in finding a forum that is better suited to your temperament and mind-set. In Him, Doc |

This will be my last post. I have copied from the Bible. Where is that a broad statement? Have you looked into just exactly what Christmas is, and where it came from? That is not broad at all. Have you looked into why you now reject the true fourth commandment and accept a manmade one? Is that too broad? I still think the day will come for you when you will return to the true commandmnents. It has happened to me, and some others that I know of. Have you seen my copy from the end of the Bible that shows the commandments will be kept by true members of the true church at his returen? That means the seventh day a;so.I hope you did, if not , look it up for yourself. May you be blessed. |
