Dear Commandmentkeeper, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control;" (Galatians 5:22-23a ESV) That self-control part seems to escape notice of a lot of people. Since it is all a single aspect of "walking by the Spirit," failure in one area is failure in the whole. No, young man, my conscience is not "perked," nor is it pricked, nor, even, is my interest piqued! :-) We frequently get people who come onto the forum making sweeping statements and asserting their own correctness. I think we've had around 20 of them this year, theonomists of one form or another. Peculiar to them all is a mono-thematic approach to the Scripture. Instead of learning how the forum operates or asking any questions, they respond with broad and sweeping statements, inevitably causing tumult with very little "meat" for discussion. If you'd like to see their posts, use the search option and enter "commandments of men." That's another common feature: any aspect of orthodoxy or orthopraxy they disagree with they decry as commandments of men; although few of them have any familiarity with church history or thought. (As I said, mono-thematic.) They also seem quite fond of ad hominem arguments. Try to stay calm and discuss things in a rational way. If that is not possible, we can assist you in finding a forum that is better suited to your temperament and mind-set. In Him, Doc |

This will be my last post. I have copied from the Bible. Where is that a broad statement? Have you looked into just exactly what Christmas is, and where it came from? That is not broad at all. Have you looked into why you now reject the true fourth commandment and accept a manmade one? Is that too broad? I still think the day will come for you when you will return to the true commandmnents. It has happened to me, and some others that I know of. Have you seen my copy from the end of the Bible that shows the commandments will be kept by true members of the true church at his returen? That means the seventh day a;so.I hope you did, if not , look it up for yourself. May you be blessed. |
