vume: 2 Corinthians 5:7 The Christian life is a continous act of faith. From making Jesus Christ Lord at the first, Them Baptism, if we are to walk in faith. Every thing from point of making Jesus Lord is walking in faith, or our old nature. Faith is action, not a thing. When you drive a car at night your faith extends beyond the headlights, because most cars can't stop in the distance that the headlights light. So, we walk by faith not by sight! agape, justme |

Dear Justme, Just... a note of correction. You wrote that faith is action, not a thing. Faith is not action. Faith RESULTS in action as Father Abraham is a good example. Saving faith is believing God's word. Rom. 4:3 For what does the Scripture say? " And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness." Rom. 4:18 In hope against hope he believed, in order that he might become a father of many nations, according to that which had been spoken, " So shall your descendants be." Rom. 4:19 And without becoming weak in faith he contemplated his own body, now as good as dead since he was about a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah's womb; Rom. 4:20 yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief, but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, Rom. 4:21 and being fully assured that what He had promised, He was able also to perform. The word Faith is more correctly translated Trust. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Jesus is the Word, and it is as he tells us things and directs our path that we are able to go forward trusting, or having faith in Him. We need to do the things that He tells us, walking in obedience. | ||||||
