Yes, Steve [Searcher], I believe you're right, we do tend to forget the Old Testament at times, some denominations being apparently more prone than others to down-play the importance of the Old Testament in the church. But the New Testament is greatly illuminated by the Old and it was in the New Testament that Paul wrote that "all Scripture is God-breathed and is profitable..." [cf.2 Tim. 3:16]. It doesn't take a theologian to figure out that the Old Testament is included in the blanket fragment of Paul's sentence: "all Scripture." --Hank | ||||||
