1 | How did sin originate | Bible general Archive 1 | congregationalist | 45069 | ||
Hello New Creature. In your reply you didn't answer my question I asked you in my previous post: If murder is a sin (and I gather you would agree with me that it is), then does foreordaining murder makes God the author of that particular sin? Can you please answer it this time around? You also wrote: I still hold that your ideas on this would mean that God is the author of sin. Well, fine, you can hold that but I would be interested to see how did you arrive at the conclusion you hold. Thanks Congregationalist |

Sorry Congreationalist, yes your right I didn't answer the following question of yours. But will now reply. "If murder is a sin (and I gather you would agree with me that it is), then does foreordaining murder makes God the author of that particular sin?" Is murder a sin? - I believe so Does God foreordain it? - I don't think so I believe God FOREKNEW that people would murder. Even unbelievers can choose to either murder or to not murder. So having said that, let me ask you this: Is abortion murder? Does God foreordain abortion? If what you say is correct, that God foreordains murder, which I disagree with, then please answer the following questions Why do Christian's picket abortion clinics, if God foreordains abortion, which also is murder. Wouldn't that be the same thing as fighting against God? |

This is the kind of error and quagmire of mental loops that a person will fall into in trying to intellectually understand God's ability to know all things. I have never felt compelled to figure out why God who knows all things would allow me to be born since he knew ahead of time how much I would grieve his heart with sin. I suppose it could be compared to the love a parent has toward a handicapped child in the womb. The parent is told they could avoid much heart ache if they abort and they choose for love of their child to give birth anyway. I am just glad God chose to allow me to be born that I might know Him and love Him by His Grace. Do I believe in predestination. Of Course the bible is full of references to being predestinated. Do I believe some are destined to hell. No not one. All are destined to be saved but they must enter into that destiny by faith. No man will have an excuse in Judgment becuase all CAN be saved if they will have faith. This is obvious in reading the bible but once you go to seminary or sit under a heavily Calvinistic teaching you can begin to THINK you see it another way in the Bible but this is becuase you are reading the bible through these man taught filters rather than using common sense in the reading of the context. As to picketing abortion clinics. I understand your point, however I do not think the preaching of the Gospel is accomplished by protests and picketing. I have never been impressed by the spiritual depth of those I have met who were abortion clinic protestors. I know that history tells us that there were public fornication encouraged in Roman times that goes far beyond the strip clubs of modern times and yet we do not see any of the disciples protesting these places. The Preaching of the Gospel will affect the hearts of men and they will change. The abortion issue is dealt with by seeing people get born again, not by protesting abortion. Should we make it illegal? Yes, but I think it will be made illegal faster by scientific discussion and legislative debate using sound wisdom and logic and the militant protesting of the clinics only serves to give the abortionists an arguement for protecting society against religious fanatacism run amuck. So that an element of fear is unleashed and discussion is hindered in legislative bodies because of the fear of allowing uneducated unscientific religious superstitions to keep a society in bondage. This kind of fear has credence because of the history of Roman Catholicsm and other religious man made systems that would not let the people learn and progress in human development. If the appearance of militant fanatacism raises it's head then intelligent dialogue is stifled. Therefore whereas irrefutable scientific evidence that would have had a great effect in changing the minds of men in a legislative debate never gets presented because a news story ran the night before showing fanatics chaining themselves to clinic doors. If the christian would present himself as having something intelligent to say rather than acting out in untempered emotional fanaticism then he may end up convincing more people than he realizes. |
