1 | Why not use Yahweh for LORD? | Bible general Archive 1 | srbaegon | 39973 | ||
Hello JMSCOTT Can I prove Paul used kurios instead of yhwh? No more than you can prove he used yhwh instead of kurios. We've never seen the original documents. We have to rely on the faithfulness of those who copied the documents. Can I prove that Paul wrote in Greek? Probably. It was the most universal language at the time. Greece was in power before Rome, and the language was in common usage to communicate between cities and nations. It was ideally suited for the spread of the gospel. The earliest Greek copies of the New Testament are from the 2nd and 3rd centuries. Translations and the Dark Ages had nothing to do with it. As for the arguments on this forum, it's evident that there are many who do not listen to the Holy Spirit's teaching. Steve |

Hello JMSCOTT You are changing your argument. Acts 4:18; 5:28; 9:29 all speak of the name of Jesus. We are speaking of yahweh and kurios. I know who the hellenists were. Paul consistently refuted their leanings. What's your point? You wrote: "is there "any" record of of any man or group of men who were inspired to translate the bible?" No one needs to be inspired to translate. People only need to be accurate. It sounds like you are saying that all Scripture must be written in Hebrew and Aramaic. Is your Bible in Hebrew? Steve |
