2 | Does that site address Rev. 6:16-17? | Bible general Archive 1 | benjamite | 33918 | ||
Sorry, I meant, given 1 Thess 1:10; 5:9; and Romans 5:9, does "that site" (www.signministries.org") place the rapture before or after Rev. 6:16-17? In Him, Benjamite |

Hi Benjamite, I don't know about that site. Without much reading I would not be able to answer that. From my studies, the Church will not go through the Tribulation. The word "Church"(which is the body of Christ) is not used after Rev. 3:22 until 22:16. The start of Rev 4 really signifies the rapture....In verse 1 John heard a "voice as it were a trumpet....which said, Come up hither". This corresponds with 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord". This is not the "coming in power and great glory" that will happen after the 7 year Tribulation. Verse 2, "and immediately I was in the Spirit". This is what will happen when the Lord comes back as a thief in the night. He will come back for us the same way he left. Very quietly with only believers knowing. Notice in Acts 1:10 "And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel" 11)"Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven" That is how I see the rapture. The Rapture cannot be Post Trib. "No man knoweth the hour". Our Lord can come at any time, at any second so to say that the rapture is after the Tribulation is saying that Jesus cannot come back today which is also saying that you know about when the Lord is coming back. With this thought, when the antichrist rises during the 7-year trib, a person can say, well a few more years before the Lord comes. Rev. 16:15 "Behold, I come as a thief". This shows that the Church (we Christians) will not on the earth at that time because the Thessalonian Christians were assured that that day would not overtake them as a thief as stated in 1Thes 5:4. Christians (the Church) are not in the darkness but in the light. We know that Jesus is coming back, it is our hope, and so we're always on the "lookout" if you will. Rev 16:15 is a final warning to those Tribulation Saints to stay vigilant, stay awake, do not be swayed, stay away from Satan-inspired activities of those last days. God Bless Barry |

Hecameforu,you have it more twisted around then benjamite. Without going into details get a copy of the book that Makarios mentioned, The Rapture Question Answered plain and simple By Robert Van Kampen It is with out a doubt the most informative book that I have ever read on the subject of end time events, and believe me I have read stacks of them. |

This is your opinion sir and you are certainly entitled to it and maybe instead of knocking others, why not share your view from all those stacks of books you've read. This is what this forum is all abou is it not? A study of the word, to share your view, possibly stimulate the thoughts of others. I am always open to other's insights and I will check out that book and get back to you with my views on it's content but I might have to go into detail. Ecclesiastes 12:12 But beyond this, my son, be warned: the writing of many books is endless, and excessive devotion to books is wearying to the body. Romans 14 1)Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. 2)For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. 3)Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. 4)Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. 5)One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. 6)He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. Love in Christ Barry |

Could you please explain all of this? Starting with Ecc.12:12. I was always under the impression that the Bible was a combination of some 66 books; or are we not to use those after Ecc. Just kidding, and yes I am wearing out faster then I would like to admit. Hang loose Barry, don't get so uptight; I'm not attacking you maybe it's your conscience that bothering you. I am in a great mood today it must be the Centrum Silver or something actually Paul was accused of too much studying at one point. Acts 26:24-26 And as he thus made his defense, Festus saith with a loud voice, Paul, thou art mad; thy much learning is turning thee mad. 25But Paul saith, I am not mad, most excellent Festus; but speak forth words of truth and soberness. 26For the king knoweth of these things, unto whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things is hidden from him; for this hath not been done in a corner. I have found that a person can learn more if he doesn't push the envelope to the point where he is no longer flexible. If you think that I stepped on your toes I am sorry. Yours in Christ, CDBJ |
