Hello, Ray -- My friend, I'll have to echo what Tim has said about these numbering schemes. They are bogus, hokus-pokus contrivances designed to take money from your pocket and put it in the authors' and publishers' pockets. I read "The Bible Code" some time ago. A friend lent it to me and asked me to read it and give him an opinion. I read it in one evening and the thing started off in a valley and went downhill after that. One of the premises of the book was that the Bible contains many encoded messages that heretofore have been hidden, but the modern computer has been able to de-code many of them. It struck me as utterly preposterous that God revealed only a part of His message to the human race in all of history until now, and now the computer will tell us the rest of the story! If this isn't bunk, what is? Ray, please don't fall for this numbers racket. Restrict your interest in numbers to your income tax form and the grocery check-out -- and, of course, to the book of Scripture that is sandwiched between Leviticus and Deuteronomy! Indulge in your passion for capitalization if you must, but I urge you to think again before plunging into this futile search for spiritual truth and meaning in numbers. God wrote His message in words, not numbers. John 1:1 says that in the beginning was the Word -- not in the beginning was the Number. Grace and peace to you, Ray. --Hank | ||||||

Hi Hank, It's always good to hear from you for I enjoy your humor. I'm glad that you will let me study the book "sandwiched between Leviticus and Deuteronomy." It is one of the books that I have gone through and found the pronouns of Deity to be divisible by three. Be that as it may, I agree with you about "The Bible Code". It took only a glance at the book store for me to know that it holds no interest for me. But the book that I have been recommending is entirely different. You might give that a look and let me know what you think. Later, Ray |
