Dear Mother, I think the verse you have in mind is Rom 4:17 in the KJV. "(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were:" Is this it? Peace, Lionstrong, a.k.a. LooseCannon |

Dear Loose Cannon, Thank you for your sane response, I think this will help very much as this is a teaching of THE CHURCH of GOD that also teaches speaking in Tongues! This verse put me in the right direction. God Bless and my prayers goes out to ALL. Mother

I beg to differ there is no teaching on this in the Church of God. They take this verse for what it says. GOD speaks things that didn't exist into existence (the creation of the world). If you heard Joyce Meyer teaching on this then you heard what I cautioned you about. I know her teaching. If you consider that less than a sane response okay but it is fact. EdB |

PLEASE! I got the answer I needed from Loose Cannons. I didn't mean to start a Holy War. I heard the term mentioned and wanted to know wher it came from and to what it refered. I only used the name of Joyce to get my example across. My church that I used to go to before I moved used it and my husband questioned me on it one time and I didn't know where to turn or who to ask. OK? I watch Joyce twice a day every day Mon-Fri. I have learned alot from her and I know very little. I have no idea where else to turn or how to study the Bible to get what I need. I didn't mean to say anyone was insane. If that is how it came across, I AM SORRY. Keep me in your prayers if you are a Christian and if you are not, I'll keep you in mine, Mother

I too am sorry I didn't mean to appear to snap back. I was merely trying to set the record straight. This verse is misused many ways to justify speaking things into existence and clearly it says God has that power, not us. I'm sorry if I appeared abrupt or argumentative, it is just Joyce Meyers has been the source of many negative debates on this forum. Please accept my sincerest apology and be assured I too call Jesus Lord. EdB |
