1 | Who dose not belive in the TERM Trinity? | Bible general Archive 1 | EdB | 20626
Elijah We have danced down this road before. To not to believe in the Trinity is to believe outside the framework of authentic Christianity. Now you may claim to being a Christian but by preaching doctrine which conflicts with what Christ said and what authentic Christianity holds shows there is a major problem. You would be better represented by saying you practice and believe a non trinity religion (whatever that is). EdB |

Mincc Okay you got me Jesus never mentioned the Trinity. Therefore it proves it doesn't exist. However you will never read this since I'm doing it on a computer and Jesus never mentioned those either so it doesn't exist either. Mincc the argument that the trinity isn't mentioned in the Bible is not valid. If things are as you say explain to me who Jesus prayed to? By whose right hand is Jesus at the present time standing? Who did Jesus call out to from the cross? Who is the person that Jesus promised to send back to be our comforter. When Jesus was being baptized as he was standing in the water the Holy Spirit descended upon Him “like a dove” and a voice spoke from heaven “This is my Son”. Who were all these personalities if not the Trinity? As for Elijah if your speaking of the responder with that id he is one he is a voice crying out from the wilderness of confusion. EdB |

Im going to deal with your 1st question. Jesus prayed to God Almighty. My question to you is do you believe that Jesus Christ IS God Almighty. Please understand sir that Jesus walked this Earth God in the flesh. Yes he cmae as the Son of God because he had to be an example of what we had to be. Jesus never denied ones worship *Matt 9:18, 14:33.* To be frank EdB when Jesus prayed he prayed to HIMSELF. As for Jesus standing at Gods righthand I encourge you to study what "righthand" means in context. Sir, You asked me "who were the personalities". The Bilble says these personalities are THE FATHER, THE SON, AND THE HOLY GHOST, together known as the GODHEAD. My issue is with the Doctrine of the Trinity. Its the Doctrine of the Trinity that causes you to look at The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost as 3 indivisuals and not GOD. IN LOVE I WRITE THIS. mincc |

Mincc Okay let's get basics defined (something I think I should have done at the beginning). How exactly do you see God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit? Does each exist today? If you see the Three at the baptism of Jesus, and you see Them as the Godhead, what is your problem with the concept of the Trinity? EdB |

Ed, I believe the problem that mincc has, and for that matter, that we all of us have, in our attempts both to understand and explain the concept of the Trinity is, quite simply, we are unable to do either. Not fully, not adequately, not definitively. The reason I say this is that, in our efforts to grapple with the concept of the triune attributes of God we are attempting to deal with a concept that is far beyond the scope of the finite human mind. God is transcendent. There is no one else or nothing else in all the universe with whom or with which to compare Him. Our understanding of the Trinity is, at the very best, pale, dim, and woefully inadequate. But the Bible does indeed confirm the doctrine of the triune nature of God and thus this doctrine constitues a cardinal tenet of orthodox Christianity, which has long considered any other view as being heretical. ... In summation, it's impossible to describe the Trinity as being something like this or similar to that. The best anyone can do is to say that there is one God in three Persons. The Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. There is a distinction between the Persons so that the Father is not the Son, the Father is not the Spirit, and the Son is not the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not to be envisioned as a mere force or influence; thus the Spirit is never to be referred to as an "it" but as He. My observations are admittedly limited and may not clear the water any, but they are the best I can offer. --Hank
