1 | One save always saved? | Rev 3:5 | tamrenee | 78768
I would like to know verses supporting the doctrine that says once a Christian is saved they can not under any circumstances loose their salvation. The doctine commonly called once saved always saved.
2 | One save always saved? | Rev 3:5 | disciplerami | 78769
Greetings, I'm terribly sorry and ask that you forgive me since I'm not able to give you what you ask? The reason being that no such verse exist. But I can offer this one: Rev 3:5 "'He who overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels." Many who post here on this forum believe that it is carnal to use reason, but I don't. It seems reasonable to conclude from this verse that some people are going to have their names erased. I see this is your first post and I hope that you will stick around. Please respond, Disciplerami |

3 | One save always saved? | Rev 3:5 | Hank | 78773
Disciplerami: No need to be sorry for not being able to produce scriptural passages in favor of the doctrine of the eternal security of the believer. We all of us have our shortcomings. In some small effort to take up the slack, I've happily supplied the questioner with a generous sampling of passages that weigh heavily in favor of this doctrine (See Post #78772). Perhaps you would like to peruse the references yourself and thus broaden your already vast and impressive biblical knowledge. --Hank

Hank, Your passages are weak proof and must be harmonized with passages that say you can fall from grace (Galatians 5:3-5; 2 Cor. 6:1,2; Heb. 6:6; Rev. 2:5). Do you have any verses that say you can't lose your salvation, no matter what, because all of the passage you provided Tamreneee are true only if man has no free will. I believe man has free will, so that's the one element you don't consider. Please don't flatter me, I only have what God has given through the inspired Word. Good day, Disciplerami |

5 | What is your point? | Rev 3:5 | Radioman2 | 78828
You write: "all of the passage you provided Tamreneee are true only if man has no free will." Are you implying the following? "All of the passage you provided Tamreneee are true only if man has no free will." "I believe man has free will." Therefore, the passages of inspired Scripture (that Hank provided) are not true. Is that what you are implying, that some passages of the Bible are not true? |

Sorry for being unclear. See 78861. Thanks, Disciplerami |

Thank you for the clarification. I did not actually think you believed that some Bible passages were not true. But I needed the clarification to be sure. What I do believe about you is that you have a high view of Scripture. It is clear from your other posts that you do believe in the inspiration and authority of the Bible -- all of it. Thank you. |
