NASB | Revelation 3:5 'He who overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Revelation 3:5 'He who overcomes [the world through believing that Jesus is the Son of God] will accordingly be dressed in white clothing; and I will never blot out his name from the Book of Life, and I will confess and openly acknowledge his name before My Father and before His angels [saying that he is one of Mine]. Bible Question (short): Everyone origianlly in the Book of Life? |
Question (full): I was always under the impression that once we recieved Jesus as our Lord and Savior our names were added to the book of life...Rev 3:5 reads to me as if everyone is in the Book of Life to begin with but we could have it removed (erased or blotted out) by God. If this is so it would seem to be an answer to some who ask how can babies be saved since they can't accept Jesus as Savior...But if their names are written in the Book of Life to begin with, as babies they can do nothing to have their names removed so they would be saved...Just a thought...What do you think? |
