Wasn't some of the original bible written in Aramaic? I thought that some of the original language Bible didn't even exist anymore and that the Greek is acutally a translation from and earlier language? Am I wrong about this? | ||||||

Greetings Dalprad! Yes, you are quite right: some parts of the original autographs were written in Aramaic.. No, you are not wrong in saying that the original autographs no longer exist and that the Greek manuscripts that we have access to are actually, in and of themselves, translations from an earlier text, which also a translation.. However, which the discovery of such recent archaeological affirmations (like the Dead Sea Scrolls), we can be confident that God's Holy Word remains pure and intact to this day. And I believe that the modern day translations are very accurate, despite the centuries of copying after copying after copying.. Your Brother in Christ, Nolan |
