1 | Is 1 John 1:9 applicable to Christians? | 1 John 1:9 | melchizedekau | 3018
i thought that i would start from the top and confer my opinion.the Blood has cleansed us from all unrighteousness,if we confess the sin, which implies that we must be aware of a particular sin to confess it.but if we die the Blood covers that sin,as does love,in which we are unaware. i have known hidden sin to stop many people reaching the Heart of God, myself one.i beleve that Jesus knows what we are called to be and His grace Keeps us in that calling .the Blood of Jesus has cleansed us from all sin past, present and future sin.He has our lives all mapped out and even knows our grand children and what they will be and do.a curse causless shall not come.in Reverlations 12:11 this how we overcome and when we overcome we get reverlations 21:7. He perfects the saints.all in love and gentleness of the Holy Spirit.just remember time does not exist in eternity. that is where God dwells. faith overrides all the natural senses and the creation.
2 | Does dying bring forgiveness? | 1 John 1:9 | Lifer1J511 | 3021
Mel, While I appreciate your response, I don't believe it makes sense. Here's why: 1) You say that the blood cleanses us from all unrighteousness IF we confess - this is conditional. 2) You say that IF we die then the blood covers the sin whether it is confessed or not. - this is unconditional (except for the fact that death has occurred). The blood covering sin cannot be BOTH conditional and unconditional. According to your view, why is unconfessed sin covered in death but NOT covered in life? What bearing does the state of our body have on whether we are forgiven or not? Or did I misunderstand your answer? Please support your view with scripture. We all have opinions but God's Word is truth. Thank you. |

3 | Does dying bring forgiveness? | 1 John 1:9 | melchizedekau | 3221
i ask you why cant the blood cover us in all areas whether in or out of the body? i believe that with the mouth confession is made unto salvation, rom 10:10. why is confession so important.1john1:9 does this mean that if we dont confess then we are not cleansed? i believe that if we are aware of a sin and dont deal with it, By the Blood and the WORD of our testimony,Rev 12:11.then we choose not what God wants,It is His Grace that Keeps us in His calling that He has placed upon us for we are called and chosen. we cant say to God what He is to do and when.irreverence and rebellion Go hand in hand.what i am saying is that while we live we are perfected by God through the Blood of Jesus and if we die before that perfection or maturity has been accomplished it is the Grace of God that gives us BOLDNESS to come to the Holy of Holies. no matter where we are in Christ.so while we live we confess our sins one to another ,James 5:16.and when we die we have done all that the Lord has shown us to do.and not rebelled in sin. While we are in Christ it is unconditional and cleanes us from all unrighteousness .outside of Christ it is conditional.
