1 | Legal/intimate? Judicial/parental? Huh? | 1 John 1:9 | Lifer1J511 | 3013 | ||
Thanks for your response. I, too, have also heard that there are 2 levels of forgiveness. The terms I've heard are Judicial and Parental forgiveness and also Positional and Practical forgiveness. I have heard that these coincide with the sanctification that you mention. These views may have some merit, it's just that I can't find them taught in scripture. There are many places in the N.T. after the cross that talk about forgiveness in Christ. How is one to know whether that is judicial/legal forgiveness or parental/intimate forgiveness. Unfortunately the writers of the N.T., led by the Holy Spirit, don't use these 'theological' terms. So how are Christians who don't know Greek (like me) to know what the levels of forgiveness are? |
