1 | Should we pray outside of God's will? | 1 Pet 2:24 | mitchm0521 | 166089
Should we pray for anything that isn't God's will? If its not God's will for everyone to be healed, why on earth would we ever want to ask him for healing? Why would the Word tell us to call for the elders and anoint the sick and the prayer of faith would raise up the sick? Why would we be instructed to pray and ask God for something he wants to say no to? Paul said that we should not be ignornant but knowing what the will of the Lrod is. So we best know his will, before we pray shoudln't we? Hope this helps you Brother Rhodes. Mitch |

2 | Should we pray outside of God's will? | 1 Pet 2:24 | MJH | 166094
The original state of man was one where sickness and death did not exist. God is a God of life, health, wholeness in every way. He is a God of truth, love, mercy, grace, justice, and holiness. When we pray for the health of any person, we are praying the will of God. We are praying that the "Kingdom of Heaven" (The place where everything is as it ought to be) will be a reality in the illness of our loved one. The fact that we die, get sick without being healed, does not mean that God willed that to be. It was never meant to be this way. And in the World to Come it will no longer be this way. I am certainly inadequate in this short reply to give an answer to the BIG question, "Why do bad things happen to good people." But one thing is for certain, it is not the will of God that bad things happen, so praying for good is always praying the will of God. …one reason for God seeming to allow this to happen, is because of the nature of God. We have sinned, first through Adam, and of course personally. The nature of such a state is what we are living in now. I do not subscribe to the idea that God wills bad things to happen, but just the opposite. Jesus the Messiah is the ultimate proof that God’s will is that all things be reconciled to Him as they were meant to be, and soon (hopefully very soon) they will be. MJH |

3 | Should we pray outside of God's will? | 1 Pet 2:24 | mark d seyler | 166101
Hi MJH, Jesus said, "there is only one good, God". So these "good" people to whom "bad" things happen do not exist. Luke 18:19 And Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. Only God knows the conclusion of a matter before it's completed its course, so only God is qualified to tell us if something that happens to us is good or not. Is 46 9 "Remember the former things long past, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me, 10 Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying, 'My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure'; To even say that something that happens to us is bad is to go beyond what we can know. This is true regardless of what the circumstance is. If we are praying for God's will to be done, then we are praying for trials. James 1 2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. The trials are for our good. God wants us to be complete and mature. That's what God says. Love in Christ, Mark |

4 | Should we pray outside of God's will? | 1 Pet 2:24 | MJH | 166107
Mark, Just because God causes all things to work out "for the good" of those who are called by his name, does not mean that those things that happened were good. Anything that goes against the nature and character of God is not of his kingdom. The definition of "bad" is defined by which kingdom it comes from or serves. Death and sickness do not come from the Kingdom of God where His perfect will rules all. Certainly God does work out these things for his purposes, but that doesn't make them good. MJH |
