Kalos: Sorry that I thought it was bjh that sent me that answer. May I kindly say that "sending away" and "putting away" is NOt the same as divorce. These terms were when a man put out his wife or sent her away without a certificate of divorce. To such a deed God said He hated "putting away" and or "sending away". This makes the statement of Jesus that anyone who marries a "put away" woman is guilty of adultery. I admit when I firts heard this in New Testament class in Seminary I was out to prove this statement wrong. I became very convienced that the scripture did say as the teacher said. This I researched extensively, and even the first several reversions of the KJV had this correctly translated. In more modern times it was changed to prevent more divorces. In making the change from put awat to divorce, many have carried heavy burdens that were never intended for them to carry. Of course I hope to hear your response, and in no way do I mean anything that is not sent in kindness and brotherly love. Bles | ||||||
