2 | Is Jesus Gods son? | Heb 1:5 | Pastor Glenn | 71001
Tony, Welcome to the forum. Before Jesus was born into the world, He had only a spiritual nature. He was God, and was known as the Word (John 1). But after His birth, He gained a human nature (like ours) in addition to his spiritual (God) nature. For better insight, please read both John chapter 1 and Hebrews chapter 1. Pastor Glenn |

3 | Is Jesus Gods son? | Heb 1:5 | CDBJ | 71006
Pastor Glenn, did you really mean to say that Jesus had a nature like ours or a body like ours, seeing that we have an old sin nature that we genetically inherited from Adam? 1 Cor. 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. Ephes. 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. |

4 | Is Jesus Gods son? | Heb 1:5 | Pastor Glenn | 71057
CDBJ, You are right. I meant to say that He had a body like ours. However, even after reading the scriptures that you mentioned, How did Christ avoid having the sin nature of the flesh? He was still the "seed of the woman" genetically in the flesh. Isn't the real key to this issue the fact that Christ walked continually after the spirit rather than the flesh? Even at 12 years old He said that He must be about His father's business. Wasn't He tempted in all points like us? Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. How is that possible if his flesh had no lust? Isn't the real difference that Christ kept His flesh under subjection to His spirit, even from birth to the crucifixion? Pastor Glenn |

5 | Is Jesus Gods son? | Heb 1:5 | JimD | 71066
Pastor Glenn, Notice the following references. There a many such references to life being in the blood. Genesis 9:4“But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood. Leviticus17:11‘For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul. Deut.12:23“Only be sure that you do not eat the blood, for the blood is the life; you may not eat the life with the meat. The Holy Bible, New King James Version, (Nashville, Tennessee: Thomas Nelson, Inc.) 1982. There is something sacrad about blood to the Lord. Also, it is interesting that the child gets its blood type from the father. I believe the sin nature is passed from the father to the child. That would explain why Jesus could not have a human father. Numerous references in the Bible refer to us being born with this fallen nature. Yet, Jesus was born as the Lamb of God without spot or blemish. His blood was from His Father. I don't have any idea how this happened, but surely is was an easy task for the creator of the universe. 6 | Is Jesus Gods son? | Heb 1:5 | Emmaus | 71073
Jim, While I understand the emphasis on the blood scarifices of the OT and of Jesus, I am rather sceptical of any emphasis on the "blood type" issue, which is purely speculative. The Father does not and did not have a "blood type" to give to the Son Incarnate since the Father is spirit. In a sense all blood types come from God since God created man and his blood with all its types. Emmaus |
