1 | Abel's sacrifice better than Cain's? | Heb 11:4 | Micky | 3
Why was Abel's sacrifice better than Cain's?
2 | Abel's sacrifice better than Cain's? | Heb 11:4 | ekip | 5
Abel made a blood offering by sacrificing the life of an animal which is what God wanted(Gen 4:4). Cain's was fruit of the ground (Gen 4:3). Not what God wanted.
3 | Abel's sacrifice better than Cain's? | Heb 11:4 | Robert | 7
The idea that the problem with Cain's offering not being a blood offering is interesting, but not supported by the text. In fact, the Genesis account states, "And the Lord had regard for Abel and his offering; but for Cain and for his offering He had no regard"(Gen 4:4-5). It appears that the emphasis is not upon the offering, but on the person.
4 | Why did God have no regard for Cain? | Heb 11:4 | ekip | 9
If the offering is not the reason, then why did God have no regard for Cain?
5 | Why did God have no regard for Cain? | Heb 11:4 | Robert | 11
I do not know the reason, because the reason is not given in the text. Therefore, I do not think it is appropriate to declare that we know the reason. As to a possible reason, we have examples in scripture of God refusing a sacrifice, not because the sacrifice was bad, but because of the attitude of the sacrificer (see Amos 5:21-24 for example). Provision was made in the Mosaic Law for grain offerings (Lev 2). Also, a poor man could even use a grain offering as a sin offering (Lev 5:11).
6 | Why did God have no regard for Cain? | Heb 11:4 | casiv | 18568
Cain's offering is the reason because Cain was greedy and kept the fat of the land for his own and gave seconds to the FATHER,while Abel gave the fat of his flock to the FATHER, the very best he had.

VERY good point!!! Gen 4:3 reads "...Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord." It does not say the first fruits. However Gen 4:4 reads "And Abel... brought of the firstlings..." I believe the wording here is significant. Cain's heart was evil, greedy as you say and jealous of his brother. We can not hide our hearts from God no matter how hard we try or how much we wish to do so.
