Why the ungraceful answer? A dissenter from what??? Is the correct position on the literalness spectrum God's litmus test? Is it even in the top 40??? Many Bible stories ARE hard to swallow for a new student of the bible like me. I still can't get over that talking donkey or Jacob wrasslin with God. I laugh, picturing them, as I write this. I love Jesus... I think his suggestion of pulling the shekels from the fish's mouth was the clincher for me. My favorite OT story is the General simply wading into the river. How very simple... says a lot about the value of theology(sp) Sorry, but I don't think you're going to see any Yale divinity school grads on this board anytime soon. Gotta go and look up the word exegesis. |

ummm, kalos,i have no idea what your talking about. I was responding to Hank ( not you) who I thought gave a graceless answer to fellow Christains, Curtnsally, because they were "dissenters" who were "ignorant and as helpful as a fountain pen to a pig".... (ie: not Yale School Divinity school graduates who give a full exegis). I still don't know what exegis means. The rest of my post was to acknowledge my own simplicity regarding the bible, just like Curtand Sally. |

An exegesis is the proper way (i.e., it is analytical, and thorough and doesn't jump to conclusions) to study the Bible so as to uncover what the message of God in the text is to man. For links on how to do an exegesis and samples of the same goto http://biblestudy.iwarp.com | ||||||
