1 | Paul our pattern to follow, not Jesus? | 2 Tim 3:16 | lionheart | 169526
Bereaniam, Is there more than one Jesus Christ (Son of God) to be preached? Ephesians 4:4-7 makes it crystal clear what he and the other Apostles were preaching and teaching. 2 Timothy 3:16,17 tells us all scripture is profitable. Give consideration to Romans 15:4 also. In Christ, lionheart |

2 | Paul our pattern to follow, not Jesus? | 2 Tim 3:16 | Bereaniam | 169575
Hi lionheart, Please read my reply to Mark, its title is (Hi Mark, I'm soooo sorry), then answer me again, please. I CERTAINLY did not mean to communicate that I thought there are two Jesuses. You told me Eph.4 makes it clear what Paul and the other apostles were preaching. However, are you aware that Paul had to withstand Peter to his face, Gal 2:11, because Peter and the disciples were still operating in the old dispensation of law, Judaizing? Paul and Peter separated, Peter went to the Jews while Paul to the Gentiles, Gal 2:7. Even Peter said he found Paul hard to understand 2Pet 3:15,16. In Him and He in me |

3 | Paul our pattern to follow, not Jesus? | 2 Tim 3:16 | lionheart | 169576
Bereaniam, I agree totally with what your saying regarding Peter,I'm not sure about Judaizing. But Peter was definatly standing on the fence and Paul called him on it. I dont think Peter and Paul separated over this though. Acts is explicate that God was sending Paul to the gentiles. No problemo bro. In Christ, lionheart |

5 | Paul our pattern to follow, not Jesus? | 2 Tim 3:16 | lionheart | 169588
Bereaniam, Notice that Paul says to follow him as he follows Christ. We all need godly example and that is what I believe Paul is speaking to here. Paul's central focus is always Jesus Christ. Paul makes frequent reference to the Old testament,Thus Romans 15:4. Hopefully this gets us a little closer and I'm understanding your question better. In Christ, lionheart |

6 | Paul our pattern to follow, not Jesus? | 2 Tim 3:16 | Bereaniam | 169598
lionheart, You are getting closer...because everything you just posted , I put in my first post. I just wanted to know if you believe the Gentiles (post resurrection of Jesus) had enough scriptures from Paul's epistles to get saved and live a fulfilled Christian life. I am sure the early Christian Gentiles did not have access to ALL of the scriptures as we do today. Would you live your Christian life differently if you only read Romans - Hebrews? Most Christians today comingle the scriptures and try to live under the old covenant and the new covenant. In Him and He in me |

7 | Paul our pattern to follow, not Jesus? | 2 Tim 3:16 | lionheart | 169602
Bereaniam, I think the light just went on. In light of 2 Peter 1:3 they did have what they needed. You are correct they absolutely didnt have the advantages we do today. That would come with time. That's why Romans 15:4. Until the Gospels and the rest of the new testament had been penned much reference to Messianic prophecy and what Jesus did was made from the Old Testament, this is what was already available in writting so that people would have some actual seeable evidence. Hopefully we're getting closer to a defineable answer. In Christ, lionheart |
