if we were to examine ALL of the healings in the ministry of jesus, which i do not have time to show you, you will find that jesus, NEVER refused healing to anyone, NEVER told them to wait, NEVER told them it was for God´s glory, NEVER told them God was chastising them, NEVER told them it wasn´t God´s will. one time he told a syrophonecian woman that healing was just for the jews, and when she persisted jesus commended her, ´woman, great is your faith, be it unto you as YOU DESIRE´. the woman with the issue of blood, she did not even ask if she could be healed. she just touched his clothes secretly and got healed. the divine response ´your faith has made you well.´ blind bart, ´do you believe that i am able to do this?´, ´yes´, ´you faith has made you well.´ the stiff guy with 4 friends, ´when jesus saw their faith´ rise take up your bed and walk. jairus´daughter, after she died, fear not keep on believing. all in all, there are 17 diff. individuals in the 4 gospels. 12 of them (the majority) their healing was directly related to THEIR FAITH as jesus said. are we to argue with jesus? should we expect healing? acts 3, seeing peter and john about to enter the temple the begger asked for alms. peter said look on us, THE BEGGER EXPECTING TO RECEIVE SOMETHING FROM THEM. he was expecting money but got what peter had, maybe it´s the preachers who are at fault sometimes why christians and the world does not recieve healing. paul was in lystra, seeing a man impotent in his feet and seeing THAT HE HAD FAITH TO BE HEALED. paul said, stand up. and he was healed. this guy had faith, as all christians do, but he was not healed. it wasn´t until a minister got him to release his faith. or believe. believing requires action. faith is a noun, believe is a verb. Isa 53:4-5 must refer to physical NOT spiritual sickenesses because of the HG commentary in Matt 8.17. It cannot be only those to whom jesus was ministering at that time because, The spiritual side applies to us as well. ´but he was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement (punishment) for our peace (with God) was upon him and by HIS STRIPES WE ARE HEALED. SALVATION FOR THE WHOLE MAN. Psa 103.2-3 who forgives all your sins and who heals all your diseases, all means all in any commentary. 7 times in the bible we find sins and sickness linked together. see also james 5, mark 1. it´s not just for heaven. redemption is for here and now. no one denys that our redemption includes forgiveness. i need forgiveness here and now because i still sin. i am not completely redeemed yet. but i will be. i still can get sick, therefore i can be healed in the same manner that i receive forgiveness. based upon the grace of my lord that came through the redemption that is through his blood. it is possible to live a life and never sin. though not probable. only jesus did and will ever do it. but we are told to be holy as God is holy. That is our goal. It is a perfect standard. paul said i have not attained this, BUT I PRESS ON TO LAY HOLD OF THAT FOR WHICH CHRIST LAID HOLD OF ME. likewise, we could live free from sickness. but we probably wont. we are not perfect. Jesus came and revealed to us the will of God. If you see jesus, you see the father. God did not tell paul no in 2 cor. paul´s prob. was not sickness but an angel of satan. besides, i´m not basing my life on the experience of paul, job trophimus, timothy or any other MAN. i´m basising my life on the word of God. i never pray and wait to see what God´s will is based upon the results. i never ask for forgiveness and wait till i feel better to believe that God forgave me. i will feel better after i receive his forgiveness. He´s already told me in a personal letter 1 john 1.9 if i confess my sin he is faithful and just to forgive it. i believe that. reguardless of how i feel. likewise, i´ve got 3 and a half years of the ministry of jesus backing my belief in the goodness and grace of my father to heal me. i let jesus´ words to the leper answer all my doubts as to the will of the father concerning healing. ´i am willing, be cleansed.´ i need nothing else. |

Welcome runtherace, cool name! If you re-read my post and understand what I was saying, you will discover that I do indeed believe, as you, that Isa 53:4-5 refers to our physical healing. I gave Mat 8:16-17 as a reference to back up that interpretation. I also believe, and have already said, that Isaiah 53:4-5 is speaking of our spiritual healing as well. Please reconsider the statement you made of that not being so in light and context of 1Pe 2:24. Please do not think I doubt the power of prayer, faith, and God’s ability, power, and will to heal. I know by the WORD and experience that faith is a necessary ingredient for healing to take place. However, we must never lose sight of the fact that we are not healed by faith, but by God. We are healed THRU faith but it is always BY God’s grace. I believe Jam 5:14 should be heeded and observed in every congregation. If someone tells me they are sick and ask me to pray for them, I lay hands on them and pray for them then and there. As a matter of fact I prayed for a lady at work just today in just such a way and situation. I told her to believe, by faith, for healing and the Holy Spirit let me pray a prayer of faith and power. She was touched by His presence and power (not mine) and had tears of rejoicing and thanksgiving afterward. I know God heard our prayer and I believe, by faith and the WORD, that she is healed. The lady knows God heard our prayer and she believes, by faith and the WORD, that she is healed. I also know that her healing is because of God’s grace and that her faith was just a means of her obtaining that grace. I am going to continue to pray for her and am anxiously awaiting the results from the test of her doctor’s visit this afternoon. But when she receives the results back, I am not going to us them as God’s report card, her faith gauge, or my anointing meter. Jesus is our Healer! retxar |
