Who did Jesus chose to appear to when He arose from the dead? He first appeared to this person and told this person to go tell the disciples. What an honor. Holman Bible Dictionary Also from the old testament we see Huldah: HULDAH (huhl’ duh) Personal name meaning, “mole.” Prophetess, the wife of Shallum (2 Kings 22:14). She was consulted after Josiah the king of Judah saw a copy of the Book of the Law found as preparations were being made to restore the Temple. She prophesied judgment for the nation but a peaceful death for Josiah the king. See Josiah. 11 When the king heard the words of the book of the law, he tore his clothes. 12 Then he commanded Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam son of Shaphan, Achbor son of Micaiah, Shaphan the court secretary, and the king’s servant Asaiah: 13 “Go and inquire of the Lord for me, the people, and all Judah about the instruction in this book that has been found. For great is the Lord’s wrath that is kindled against us because our ancestors have not obeyed the words of this book in order to do everything written about us.”[6] 2 Ch 34:14–21 Huldah’s Prophecy of Judgment 2 Kings 22:11-14 So Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam, Achbor, Shaphan, and Asaiah went to the prophetess Huldah, wife of Shallum son of Tikvah, son of Harhas,[7] 2 Ch 34:22 reads Hasrah keeper of the wardrobe. She lived in Jerusalem in the Second District. They spoke with her. The Lord's best friends were Martha and Mary and their brother. I would call this an inner circle. Women have always been used by our Lord. It is only when we look to Him for guidance does He put those people in our paths to direct us to Him. If we put Him in a box we may miss out on all that He has for us. Many, many women serve as pastors who preach the true gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Many, many men as well as women are false prophets or pastors who preach a different gospel. I had rather hear a women preach the true gospel any day than a man or woman preach a false gospel. If you don't want to listen to a women you have a choice to go somewhere else. Why knock someone who will answer to God for their actions? Its between them and God. |

Val: Your note is well done. My wife and have the same Seminary degrees and our beliefs and our understanding of Scripture are both the same as yours. I was not attempting to cause an outbreak of any kind. It just seems there is a genuine lack of allowing Culture to be involved in understanding Scripture. There is selective following of some verses. Example is the covering of hair. Thank you for you note. There is no reason for either side of this debate to disfellowship or be unkind to anyone. The fact is there is a majority of SBF that does not accept the fact women can be used of God in any position He seen fit. The same holds true for a man. Blessings. justme |

God can certainly use whoever and whatever He chooses to use, for whatever purposes He choses. No one has said or even implied otherwise. And by His boundless grace and mercy, thank God, He will sometimes see fit to override our disobedience for our good. I have to wonder though, if He will be so kind and merciful, when we stand before Him in judgment. Our doctrinal foundation should be built on what the Scriptures clearly teach, not what we think they may teach. Such vague interpretation is a foundation of wood hay and stubble. 1 Cor 3:12-15 |
