With all due respect for the last 20 centuries of Orthodox interpretation based on sound hemeneutics and scholarly research, understanding and revelation comes from God Proverbs 1:23, "I will pour out my spirit upon you, I will make known my words unto you." Jesus opened up the understanding of the scriptures to his disciples. For decades they had the scriptures and didn't understand them, Luke 24:45. The Pharisees studied the scriptures and didn't understand them. The spirit reveals what the word is saying. Not decades of Orthodox and scholarly research nor sound hemeneutics as you put it. I respect those studies but understanding of the scriptures comes from God.

this posting was indeed a mistake, it was not on purpose, I'm sorry about that. I'm not tying to start an argument. as I said before I respect the work and labor of those that came before me, and a lot of what they taught and agreed on is not sound doctrine according to the bible. but true understanding of Gods' word come thru revelation of the Spirit. We used their works as aides, but they are not the unadulerated Gospel truth. the Bible interprets itself. |

Hello who..., We can agree with the principle that scripture interprets scripture and that even godly men are not perfect. However, one still has to arrive at an interpretation of the passage at hand. Are you saying that "your interpretation" is the correct one and that it was given to you directly "by the Spirit" unaided in any other way? 1 Cor. 1:10 is one of the more challenging passages in the NT. As far as I'm aware, there are many sound views as to what "to telion"- the perfect- means, but no consensus. There are also many unfounded views. Since scripture doesn't explicitly say what "the perfect" is, can you be absolutley certain that you know? Personally, I think we should be clear about things scripture itself is clear about, but avoid making dogmatic statements about things that are not:-) Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

I'v been taught by great men of God. I have used many aids that were written by them. Holy, Spirit Filled, Men Of God. I have not attacked anyone. I've asked questions, and based upon my training as a child of God, I've stated what I believe to be true. I am not alone in what I believe and this is certainly not my interpretation. I have given scripture pertaining to everything that I have stated. Instead of answering my questions I'm being attacked and accused of arguing and disrupting the forum. NO ONE IS RESPONDING TO MY QUESTIONS. I AM THE ONE BEING ATTACKED.

Hello who..., No one is attacking you, my friend. What you are being asked to do- or be held accountable to- is to support and qualify your answers. You're making un-qualified statements, and since this is a Public Forum, anyone has the right to call you on that! On the SBF, we don't just take what somebody says without providing solid Biblical support. Since, you're new to this Forum, have you familiarized yourself with "About the Forum" and "Terms of Use". There's also a big yellow heading- caveat- on the Home page. I think if you take a little time and try and understand how the SBF operates, you'd be less frustrated. The one's that don't, usually run into problems because they fail to take this into account:-) Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

I believe we are suppose to mark our ongoing posts as notes after an initial question. Hope this helps. By the way I suggest you just let it go. Enough has been said. Prov 15:1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger. |
