With all due respect for the last 20 centuries of Orthodox interpretation based on sound hemeneutics and scholarly research, understanding and revelation comes from God Proverbs 1:23, "I will pour out my spirit upon you, I will make known my words unto you." Jesus opened up the understanding of the scriptures to his disciples. For decades they had the scriptures and didn't understand them, Luke 24:45. The Pharisees studied the scriptures and didn't understand them. The spirit reveals what the word is saying. Not decades of Orthodox and scholarly research nor sound hemeneutics as you put it. I respect those studies but understanding of the scriptures comes from God.

Whew... that's pretty prideful talk, Who. "Of course, you are not such wiseacres as to think of ways that you can expound Scripture without assistance from the works of divines and learned men who have labored before you in the field of exposition. If you are of that opinion, pray remain so, for you are not worth the trouble of conversion, and like a little coterie who think with you, would resent the attempt as an insult to your infallibility... "It seems odd," -- very odd indeed! -- "that certain men who talk so much of what the Holy Spirit reveals to themselves, should think so little of what He has revealed to others." --Charles H. Spurgeon |

Coterie means, "small exclusive group of people who share the same interests." I am part of a group such as that and it is identified as the church, the body of Christ whose interest is the Kingdom of God. Conversion comes when one has repented, been baptized in Jesus name and filled with his spirit. His apostle's or the Jews were converted Acts 2:1-4. The Gentiles were converted, Acts 10:44-48. John the Baptist's disciples were converted. Acts 19:1-6. In Acts 2:39, Peter lets me know that this spirit or conversion is for me, I have been converted according to Acts 2:38 I have repented of my sins, been baptized in Jesus name and filled with his spirit and the power and signs that is made mentioned in Mark 16:15-20 follows my life. My question to you is, how have you been converted? and what should I be converted into?

Scripture says we will know them by their fruit; I may be wrong, but you seem to have a spirit of argument and dissension. If what you want is to argue, I would personally like to invite you to take it elsewhere. It seems apparent, whom is holy.
