Dear Tim, You wrote, "So, are you saying that our experience should determine our doctrine?" :-) Well, at least I'm learning a few flaws that moral perfectionism does NOT proscribe. :-) You wrote, "Should I ignore these clear teachings of Scripture simply because of experience?" Along the lines of my post to lookin: all I can earnestly and honestly say is: Go for it! The proof is in the pudding, as they say. More proof for you, of course, than it is for me. However, if this hermeneutic provides you with the reason and affords the means, then your life is consequentially required to reflect it. I believe the bible makes it clear that it's impossible for man to live without sinning. "The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak." This is the reason why we must kill this "flesh daily" through repentence as man is unable to remove the stain of sin ourselves. Paul said "I die daily" and I thank Christ Jesus for the ability to do so. | ||||||

stjohn- as you are in apparent agreement with the statements of HH2, and he has not as yet responded (though it's still early) would you help me understand what he/she is saying and the Scriptural support? Thanks, Jeff |
