1 | How does any Homosexual believe they are | Rom 1:19 | Megiddo | 91422
An interesting question but one better directed towards all humankind. Where does Jesus ever condemn homosexuals, moreover if it is a sin then by whose words is it worse than any other sin? Jesus's words? I believe that while there may be biblical passages that condemn homosexuality, it is important to leave thier relationship with God between them and God. How about I reframe the question "IS IT POSSIBLE FOR A HOMOSEXUAL TO DO THE WILL OF GOD EVEN IF LIVING A HOMOSEXUAL LIFESTYLE MAKES THEM A SINNER? |

Megiddo, You said: "I believe that while there may be biblical passages that condemn homosexuality, it is important to leave thier relationship with God between them and God. " Have you considered the fact that John the baptist was beheaded for speaking out against sin? Do you know the scriptures demand that we speak out and even ex-communicate the unrepentant one so that they may be ashamed? Do you think that the city of Ninevah would have repented and lived if Jonah had not preached to them? "How about I reframe the question "IS IT POSSIBLE FOR A HOMOSEXUAL TO DO THE WILL OF GOD EVEN IF LIVING A HOMOSEXUAL LIFESTYLE MAKES THEM A SINNER?"" No, it is not possible to truly do the will of God by staying in sin and refusing to repent. That reminds me that there was some church that recently voted a homosexual to the office of Bishop!? It also reminds me of the scriptures: Rev 2 20Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow[3] that woman[4] Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce[5] My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. 21And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent.[6] 22Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their[7] deeds. 23I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works. Pastor Glenn |

True, our works are the fruit of our labor and one will be judged by his/her works. Are we not all sinners? Do we ever fully cease to be sinners? We are accepted into the Kingdom by grace, not by works. Do we deserve this? NO. Not one is good enough. Do I think Ninevah would have been saved without Jonah pointing out thier sin? Only God knows this, but provided with the story God chose Jonah to do this...in the end the lesson becomes about Jonah...NOT Ninevah..it's a story about trusting God's intentions. Jonah's main issue is that God forgave them after all they had put Jonah through. You bring up an interesting question: What it si mission of Christians? Can a homosexual call himself/herself a Christain? Absolutly! Why or how? Because being a Christian means that you have accepted God's gift of grace brought to us through Jesus...who died for our sins. |

Megiddo: Re your question and answer, "Can a homosexual call himself/herself a Christian? Absolutely!" -- Does calling oneself a Christian make him a Christian? Whatever happened to repentence? Do you know what the biblical meaning of repentence is? Do you believe that a truly regenerate believer will continue to practice those acts which God has condemned as a perverion and an abomination to Him? An habitual adulterer, liar, thief, murderer -- the vilest scum of the earth -- can CALL himself a Christian. Does that mean he is a redeemed child of God, a born-again, regenerate believer? There is more to being a Christian than merely "accepting" God's gift of grace -- whatever that means. Jesus laid it down clearly, "You must be born again." That is what regeneration is, and regeneration is the work of the Holy Spirit in the heart and life of the penitent -- PENITENT -- sinner who comes to God through faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is of God. Regeneration is of God. Without regeneration there is no salvation, and without salvation there is no Christian. --Hank

Hank, I understand what repentence is. I think where you misunderstand me is in the nature of sin. Are you sinless? It's an obvious answer. Can we with any actions we do on this earth get into heaven? I agree one should or would evaluate one's life after finding Jesus- I certainly experienced that...and I've made a lot of changes in my actions and in my inactions. I still struggle with some things though and those are between Jesus and me- he helps me conquer them. What I'm getting at is that after a person accepts Jesus and the gift much responsibility comes, but you then belong to Jesus. No matter what mistakes you make, Jesus does not shut the door provided you wish to repent. If you beleive that homosexuals need to repent that is a different point. I'm saying that it is possible for a homosexual to be a Christian, to praise her/her creator, and to carry out God's will while being a homosexual. If that statement is false...then there is no hope for any of us who sin in any way. With love, Randy |

Megiddo: You say you understand what repentence is. How would you define repentence as it is used in Scripture? ..... Do you or do you not believe that homosexuals need to repent? Please give reasons for your answer. ..... You say that you believe it is possible for a homosexual to be a Christian and carry out God's will WHILE BEING A HOMOSEXUAL. Please furnish scriptural evidence to back up your belief. (Don't forget to include all the scriptural condemnations of homosexuality!). ...... You mentioned making mistakes. What do you call 'mistakes.' Is deliberately living in a homosexual relationship merely a 'mistake'? Is it OK to do this if one remembers to "repent" every every night before he goes to sleep. Come on, let's not kid ourselves. In view of what Scripture clearly says about this sexual perversion, why are you supportive of it? .... Do you buy the alibi that homosexuals can't help being the way they are and can't change? Suppose a homosexual knew that he would fall over dead the very next time he engaged in a homosexual act. Do you think he would find some way to change his behavior? --Hank
