1 | To be saved must we be baptised? | Acts 2:38 | CDBJ | 77037 | ||
Greetings Timothy Paul, Romans 10:9 can be even more concentrated to bring out the truth about salvation. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Notice in the next verse the absence of water baptism, good works, confession with the mouth and anything else people would like to get hung up on. 1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. Plain, pure, and unencumbered by something we do, that’s grace! There are some on this forum that are trying to encourage the same thing that Paul was trying to discourage in Galatians. Galatians 1:6-7 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. Anytime the focus is diverted from Jesus and what he did to something we can do to supposedly help the plan of salvation causes believers to fall from their steadfastness in Christ, be careful.
