2 | what man or who is luke talking about? | Acts 17:31 | Morant61 | 37556
Greetings JMScott! The man being discussed by Paul is Jesus. The verse doesn't say that he will be raised, it says that He has been raised. The fixed day is literally 'He has determined a day'. Thus, it refers to the day of judgement which God has ordained. The resurrection of Christ is the proof of this coming judgement. I hope this helps! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

4 | what man or who is luke talking about? | Acts 17:31 | CDBJ | 37565
Hi JMSCOTT, lets come at this verse in Acts from a little different tack. Lets start with John 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: This is in reference to Jesus, so that mean that all judgment that is talked about with man being judged, the one sitting in the judges seat is the God man, Jesus Christ. Acts 17:31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. He hath appointed a day is also found in 2 Thes. 1:6-10 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; 7And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 8In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 10When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. The man he hath ordained, that is John 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: He hath given us assurance because he raised him from the dead. Romans 1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: 1 Thes. 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. Hebrews 13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 1 Peter 1:21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. 6 | what man or who is luke talking about? | Acts 17:31 | Reformer Joe | 37574
Except for the fact that Jesus IS the Son. Jesus is indeed God, but he is also a human being (a "man"), so the argument you make doesn't fit the conclusion. --Joe! |

7 | what man or who is luke talking about? | Acts 17:31 | JMSCOTT | 37576
huh?i was not arguing...nobody has the right argue about the bible but god himself...for he is the one "only"who understand "everything" in it.I don't do the judging nor do you...i was asking was that man jesus?..so joe jesus is god.I agree....that is why man down the centuries have been able to see god....jesus said if you have seen(eyes) me,you have seen the father also....let us make man in our image was written in genesis...so i agree jesus was god in different state...just like water has 3 different states....liquid,solid,steam.....still water but three different states....that is romans 1:19-20...something in the physical creation to help us understand the spiritual.....we are without excuse...not to know who he is!

By "argument" I did not mean a personality clash or a difference of opinion. The word "argument" is also commonly used to mean "the point one is trying to make." Sorry if that confused you. There is a fourth state of matter besides liquid, water, and steam: plasma. Besides, God is not a substance that takes on different forms at different times. The Son of God became a man (and remained God) when he took on a second nature in the womb of Mary. --Joe! |

i am not confused.....and water does have three states.....just like your skin has 3 layers....and i did not say that god was water.I said he uses the physical creation to tell us something about himself...Read Romans 1:19-20.....paul said it is inexcusable for us not to know how he really exist and is!Pay attention to this!.....The father....the word......the holy spirit...bear witness in heaven....in the earth....the blood the spirit...and the water...another example is:Noah's ark was three levels...jonah in the fish three days!jesus in the grave three days!Solomons temple three levels.....the ark of the covenant...the most holy..the holy and the court around about! Now you might what in the world is this talking about?Do you remember when after the Israelites came out of the red sea...they came to stop....god called moses to the top of the mountain and gave him instructions on how to build the ark of the covenant. He told moses to build it just like i told you exactly....why because it represented his creation...i know this sounds funny but it is true...God himself has three manifestations!Remember...the father....word....holy spirit....here another physical to describe how everything in the universe follow gods pattern...take the atom...it has the proton...neutron...electron all part of the atom..even your goverment uses this pattern..the three levels of government...1.judicial..2.legislative..3.executive..3!...and finally i will use your own body to prove this...you have head cavity.....the chest cavity....and the lower cavity(legs)it is no accident that this came about your arm....hand elbow...shoulder....your leg is made of the foot, knee, hip three parts...Go to levitcus the whole book..this is where moses was told how to build the ark...now read Luke 24:27, and 44-45..this were jesus told his disciples if you want to know something about me begin with moses!
