1 | Do tongues relate to worship in context? | John 4:23 | Morant61 | 122559
Greetings Prazn! Your final passage is excellent advice - don't judge others. How do you know that these individuals have 'head' knowledge but would not know Jesus? :-) However, I will have to differ with you on whether or not 'tongues' is worthy of debate. The Apostle Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, spent three chapters in Scripture on this topic! :-) Apparently, God considered is worthy of discussion. 2 | Do tongues relate to worship in context? | John 4:23 | prazn | 122587
brother Tim, Just as there were pharisees and scribes when Jesus walked on the earth, there are pharisees and scribes today. "Those who have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof." - 2 Timothy 3:5 1 John 4:1 says to "test the spirit". I believe that I said that the issue of whether to speak in tongues, or not, is not worthy of PROTRACTED debate; particularly when neither side is willing to give up what they believe to be true about the matter. To prolong a debate without resolution can only lead to more animosity and divisiveness. Better to agree to disagree. peace, prazn |

3 | Do tongues relate to worship in context? | John 4:23 | Morant61 | 122608
Greetings Prazn! Testing the spirits is one thing, calling people pharisees because they disagree with you is another! :-) As far as debate goes, I have disagreed with several people on this issue of tongues, yet there hasn't been any animosity or divisiveness. We have each shared what we believe, and provided Scriptural support. There has been no name calling or bitterness. This is good debate. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
