Hi justme, of course avoiding people would take on a whole new dimension. You wouldn't even consider sitting down at their house for a meal. As far as I can remember the Lord was always in teaching mode. So as our example we should be in teaching mode too not avoiding sinners, but telling them the reason for the hope that is in us. The problem with all is sin. My point was we should reach them with the gospel. To fail to point out what pleases the Lord and displeases Him would be avoiding the truth. To sit down with a couple in their home, playing house, acting as if every thing is hunky dorey is not the type of thing I saw the Lord do. He was always in teaching mode. After all He was and is the greatest teacher of all. Today in our world, sin is acceptable. My question to you is sin acceptable to the Lord? Interesting conversation. Val | ||||||

Shalom Val, Perhaps a middle ground would be more effective - to not avoid nor to appear condoning- Invite them into your home (for a meal only...)? I can see both sides have creedence. Having other family members or friends inviting the couple into their homes takes the "living together" out of the equation, don't you think? Cheri |
