1 | Who is Greater Jesus Christ or the Fathe | John 14:28 | Tara1 | 112802 | ||
Hi Johnny, Great post. Of course the Father is greater than the Son. He gave (which in itself tells us he is greater) his Son "things", such as authority, kingship, judging power, but that in no way then make him (Jesus) greater than him. Wow what nonsence! It's like talking to a wall, to some on this forum. All through the Scriptures there a comparision between "God" and Jesus. Jesus' God. etc. Tara1 |

Hi, Tara1! You seem to be an intelligent person… I have noticed how you handle the various texts… why are you so obstinate in believing in Christ? Almost every single post is directed at divorcing the Father from the Son--it is an exercise in futility! Please, go beyond the letter of the Law! Ask the Holy Spirit to give you enlightenment! You are knowledgeable in the actual words… now, allow the Spirit to take hold of you and free you to the total Truth! For my sake and my sake only shall I act, for why should my name be profaned? I will not yield my glory to another. (Isaiah 48:11) Yahweh is stating that He will not share His glory (power, praises, status) with any other! Yet we read a totally different story in Revelation: Then the angel showed me the river of life, rising from the throne of God and of the Lamb and flowing crystal-clear. (Revelation 22:1) In Revelation we find both the Father and the Son sharing the Divine Throne… How could this be possible? Then there’s the matter of Jesus mirroring His Father… everything the Father is, Jesus is!: Thus says Yahweh, Israel’s king, Yahweh Sabaoth, his redeemer; I am the first and I am the last; there is no God except me. (Isaiah 44:6) When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead, but he laid his right hand on me and said, ’Do not be afraid; it is I, the First and the Last; I am the Living One, I was dead and look--I am alive for ever and ever, and I hold the keys of death and of Hades. (Revelation 1:17-18) Thus says Yahweh, your redeemer, he who formed you in the womb; I, Yahweh, have made all things, I alone spread out the heavens. When I hammered the earth into shape, who was with me? (Isaiah 44:24) In the beginning was the Word: the Word was with God and the Word was God. he was with God in the beginning. Through him all things came into being, not one thing came into being except through him. He was in the world that had come into being through him, and the world did not recognise him. (John 1:1-3, 10) God is spirit, and those who worship must worship in spirit and truth. (John 4:24) and this veil will not be taken away till they turn to the Lord. Now this Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And all of us, with our unveiled faces like mirrors reflecting the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the image that we reflect in brighter and brighter glory; this is the working of the Lord who is the Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:16-18) As you can see everything the Father is the Son is! I grant you, there are difficult passages in the Bible. But the Holy Spirit shines a powerful light on our minds, hearts and spirits and He feeds us according to our quest, humility and devotion. Here’s a little hint about all matters pertaining to God: to us, though, God has given revelation through the Spirit, for the Spirit explores the depths of everything, even the depths of God. (1 Corinthians 2:10) It is only through the Grace of the Holy Spirit that we can come to the fullness of the Truth: I still have many things to say to you but they would be too much for you to bear now. However, when the Spirit of truth comes* he will lead you to the complete truth, since he will not be speaking of his own accord, but will say only what he has been told; and he will reveal to you the things to come. (John 16:12-13--*See John 14:15-26) There were things not revealed to the people of Israel… things that only after the incarnation, death, resurrection and ascension of the Word came to be known through the Holy Spirit! One such example is Paul‘s description of the Rock that followed the Israelites, in the desert, providing life giving water: and that Rock was Christ! (1 Corinthians 10:1-5) Please, listen to Thomas’ confession and make it your own: Thomas replied, ‘My Lord and my God!’ Jesus said to him: You believe because you can see me. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe. (John 20:28-29) If you are willing to accept Jesus’ words as Truth when He says that the Father is greater than He (John 14:28), please, also accept Jesus’ words as Truth when He says that He and the Father are One! (John 10:30) Let the Emmanuel, God-with-them, be your God, for outside of Him there is no Salvation! (Revelation 21:3 and Acts 4:12) God Bless! Angel |
