1 | Paul our pattern to follow, not Jesus? | Luke 24:46 | kalos | 169617
For starters, you are asking a hypothetical question, even though you may not have worded it as such: IF the Gentiles had access only to the epistles of Paul, could they have lived a fulfilled Christian life? This question makes a couple of assumptions. The first assumption is that they did NOT have any Hebrew Scriptures. The second one (implied) is that every Gentile church in the Roman empire had access to the complete body of Paul's writings. I see no evidence to prove that either of these assumptions is true. I believe I understand your question(s). What I do not understand is the purpose of these questions. What are you trying to prove? What point are you trying to make? Grace to you, Kalos |

2 | Paul our pattern to follow, not Jesus? | Luke 24:46 | Bereaniam | 169670
If we "rightly divide the Word of truth" the line of division is between the Law and Grace. There are over 20 scriptures that tell us Paul is our pattern to follow, he was given the stewardship (administration) over the dispensation of Grace, just as Moses was the administrator over the dispensation of Law. Today, many Christians comingle Law and Grace. The book of Hebrews tell us to come from under the dispensation of Law, Jesus died to get us out of the outer and inner courts...so we could go into the Holiest place. All scriptures are good for instruction, reproof, etc, but all scriptures are not applicable to us (as Gentiles). This is not rocket science, but I guess I am not expressing my inner feelings very well...but thanks again for all your input. Bereaniam |
