Greetings Emmaus! Thanks for the reference. This verse does bother me some as one might infer that works alone are justification for reward, yet the passage that you have noted defines the "do gooder" as being righteous. And no one is righteous apart from faith. All this being said, let's take a look at the preceding verse beginnin with v. 38. The disciples are complaining that those who were not their "followers" were performing a miracle in Jesus' Name. I find the Lord's counsel sobering to say the least as we consider one another and the differences that we bring to the community of Christ. Comments? mommapbs |
