The Sabbath. The 7th day advents DO NOT hold true to the sabbath. They worship on the sabbath, in so doing they must first drive to church. That is a no no according to sabbath law. Because you must have policeman working so you get there safe. The gas stations must also stay open so you don't run out of gas. Also your church has electricty which means someone has got to run it. If you make a meal to eat on the sabbath that to is wrong. The list goes on. It doesn't bother me if you worship on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Should worship daily. And think about this 8 in the bible is always a new begging. You put all of the Names of Jesus, such as Son of Man ect. will always be divisable by 8. Jesus is the new beginning Sunday is the new beginng of the week. The reason why most Christians go to church on Sundays is that reason also the scriptures I gave you before. Its not saying that worshipping on Saturdays is wrong or any other day. But people who claim that we don't hold to the sabbath and for that reason we are wrong. neither do the advents or any other group who worships on Saturdays. Also if you read the actual Sabbath law you will see it states clearly. Ex 31:16 'So the SONS OF ISRAEL shall observe the sabbath, to celebrate the sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant.' (emp. added) In Christ, Darcy |

When Jesus walked with his disciples into a corn field and picked corn to eat the Pharacees accused them of breaking the sabbath and Christ rebuked them. The Pharacees had perverted the sabbath law so badly the it was not possible to follow all the restrictions that they had put on it. The sabbath is made for man and not man for the sabbath. Mk 2:27,28. Christ also haeled on the sabbath. Was he breaking the sabbath? Mk 3:4 It is lawful to do good on the sabbath. As for gas, you would take care of that on Friday. You also would not go out to eat on the sabbath. I see how an end less list could be generated. Ex 20:8-11 The sabbath commandment was on the tables of stone and since we don't have to keep it then is it okay for us to use his name withput reverence? You know the ugly words using his name. Or can we disobey and disrespect our parents? I've been guilty of that one and I still an sorry for it. How do we know what sin is if we don't have something to go by. I can't see trashing any one commandment. I was taught the ten commandments in Sunday school. I was also told to pray in front of a picture of a man holding a lamb.I'm telling you I hated that picture. I was afraid of it. Because of this I hated going to church and I gave my Mom such a problem at church she quit making me go. I tried again as ateen to go to church but I got those same feelings. I went a very long time searching for the truth. I believe the SDA church is the closest to the truth but I see things there I do.t like such as Christmas. I researched it at since that I have had a terrible time telling people what I found. It has to do with Tamus. I did find some scripture in Jer 10. I like to learn about the different beliefs people have. I truely believe Christ has jewels in all the churches. I believe that as long as you walk in the light you have that Christ looks on your heart. I'm glad that we have a just and loving God. Thanks for writting me back. Your sister in Christ CL | ||||||

Candy, The Lord IS our Sabbath: Heb 4:9 So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. Heb 4:10 For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His. Matt. 11:28 Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. We are in the Sabbath if we are in Christ we are not breaking the sabbath no matter what day we worship on. We are in the Sabbath 7 days a week. In Galations Paul talked about Legelist VERY harshly. Galations is the only church that he didn't ask for them to pray for them. I think that says volumes. John the Baptist said "Behold, the lamb who takes away the sin of the world." Sin has absolutely no control over us who are in Christ. Sin is defeated. As for Christmas's and every other holiday, it doesn't make you a bad person if you celebrate it or you don't. It was once debated on this forum the phrase onced saved always saved giving someone a ticket to sin when ever you want to. I got a simple answer for that and if you are saved the answer is YES! I sin alot more than I want to. And Every Christian does. Some day we will be out of this flesh and then we will be sinless. You also asked how will we know what sign is if we got nothing to go by. the law is written in our hearts: Rom 2:15 in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them, Here is a verse you might want to look at. Col. 2:16 Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day-- We cannont live by do's and don't we will fail everytime. God tells us to live by faith. If we are to be righteous we must live by faith. Rom 1:17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH." God Bless you, Darcy |

The law is not altogether invalid 'On the other hand, the law cannot be altogether invalid since the New Testament affirms its abiding applicability. "All Scripture is … useful" (2 Tim 3:16-17), including Old Testament laws. Jesus came not to abolish the law, but to fulfill it (Matt 5:17-20). The law is the embodiment of truth that instructs (Rom 2:18-19). It is "holy" and "spiritual, " making sin known to us by defining it; therefore, Paul delights in it (Rom 7:7-14,22). The law is good if used properly (1 Tim 1:8), and is not opposed to the promises of God (Gal 3:21). Faith does not make the law void, but the Christian establishes the law (Rom 3:31), fulfilling its requirements by walking according to the Spirit (Rom 8:4) through love (Rom 13:10). When Paul states that women are to be in submission "as the Law says" (1 Cor 14:34) or quotes parts of the Decalogue (Rom 13:9), and when James quotes the law of love (2:8 from Lev 19:18) or condemns partiality, adultery, murder, and slander as contrary to the law (2:9, 11; 4:11), and when Peter quotes Leviticus, "Be holy, because I am holy" (1 Peter 1:16; from Lev 19:2), the implication is that the law, or at least part of it, remains authoritative. (...) 'The New Testament writers also apply the principles in the law. From Deuteronomy 25:4 ("Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out grain"), Paul derives a principle that workers ought to be rewarded for their labors and applies that principle in the case of Christian workers (1 Cor 9:9-14). In 1 Timothy 5:18, Paul again quotes Deuteronomy 25:4, this time in parallel with a saying of Jesus (Matt 10:10) as if both are equally authoritative. Likewise, the principle of establishing truth by two or three witnesses (Deut 19:15), originally limited to courts, is applied more broadly to a church conference (2 Cor 13:1). The principle that believers are not to be unequally yoked together with unbelievers is derived from a law concerning the yoking animals (2 Cor 6:14; cf. Deut 22:10). 'In 1 Corinthians 5:1-5, 13, Paul affirms on the basis of Leviticus 18:29 that incest, a capital offense in the Old Testament, is immoral and deserves punishment. A person practicing incest in the church must be excommunicated to maintain the church's practical holiness. Paul maintains the law's moral principle, yet in view of the changed redemptive setting, makes no attempt to apply the law's original sanction.' ____________________ Bibliography. G.
