1 | Is it wrong to preach against sin? | Matt 7:2 | Pastor Glenn | 60552
Does this verse mean that we should not preach against the sins of others because we will be guilty of "Judging" others? I have heard this scripture quoted many times from "church go'ers". John the baptist was beheaded after preaching against sin. Was he wrong? Pastor Glenn |

2 | Is it wrong to preach against sin? | Matt 7:2 | Hank | 60660
"John the baptist was beheaded after preaching against sin. Was he wrong?" ... And Jesus was crucified. Was He wrong? The verse you cite does not prohibit the preaching of the gospel certainly, and how can one preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and preach FOR sin? Clearly the Bible does not promote sin; it teaches against all forms of it; so then, how can one teach and preach the Bible without condemning sin? --Hank
3 | Is it wrong to preach against sin? | Matt 7:2 | Pastor Glenn | 60698
Thank you Hank, Your answer concerning condemning sin brings to mind John 3: "17For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18"He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God." Also: Matthew 10:22 And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved. God bless, Pastor Glenn |
