Greetings Steve! Forgive me, it appears that I have misunderstood your point. I thought that you were saying that Jesus was only tempted externally, by Satan. So, I thought you were making a distinction between external and internal temptations. The difference to me would be that a person might 'tempt' me to do something that I really have no inclination to do at all. For instance, I have never been attracted by alcohol. So, if someone were to tempt me to drink, it really wouldn't have any impact on me. However, internal temptations by their very nature must be 'real' temptations in that they spring from my wants and desires. Sorry for the misunderstanding! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
