Emmaus, Why it is very hard to the catholics to accepted that mary has other sons and daughters? Even it is in the Bible, is the Bible lied my friend? Mt 13:55 Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? Mt 13:56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? Joseph dont knew (have sex) with eve until he brought forth firstborn Jesus. Mt 1:24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: Mt 1:25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS. Ge 4:1 ¶ And Adam "knew" Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. God bless, |

3 | JESUS CHRIST | Matt 13:55 | jlpangilinan | 79949
Mt 13:55 Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? They are brother of Jesus Christ, so it is clear that they are sons of mary. For the virgin argument, the Bible say that Joseph "knew" mary after her firstborn Jesus. Mt 1:25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS. It is clear that they "had sex" and have other children. When adam "knew" eve, they got son. Ge 4:1 ¶ And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. I know it is hard for you to believed that because the catholic always taught doctrine which is not in the Bible. You keep your traditions over the Bible. The Bible has that warning anyway: Mt 15:3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? If you can taught that mary goes straight to heaven without seeing death even without in the bible., what else you cannot teach anyway? God bless, |

4 | JESUS CHRIST | Matt 13:55 | Emmaus | 79955
Johhny, If my position on the bretheren of Jesus is just a Catholic thing, why did Luther, Calvin and Zwingli, those Sola Scriptura, Bible Alone, Reformers hold the same position that I do? If you want to know, go tho this link and see the explanation. http://www.catholic.com/library/Brethren_of_the_Lord.asp And by the way, it is not Catholic doctrine that Mary did not see death. You misunderstand that also. Emmaus |

Word study ... adelphos, adelphe, anepsios ... Emmaus, my Catholic friend ... The word for brother is adelphos, sister is adelphe ... and there is a word for cousin, it is anepsios (Col 4:10). I am not sure why the site you post said otherwise. Please read http://www.carm.org/catholic/brothers.htm If traditions (no matter how old) and trends are not total truth, I throw them in the trash. Searcher, You do not address the other parts of the article which identify the mother of the "brothers" by other scripture verses. Obviously Calvin and Luther interpreted these passages the same way. "Scripture interpreting scripture" I think is how it is usually put to me. Emmaus |

Emmaus, James, Joseph, Simon and Judas were children of Joesph and Mary, based on this passage and Luke 1:25 as well as others. I was proving they could not be cousins, because other Scripture proves it is another word. What do you say about this? Did you read the CARM article? Searcher |
