1 | Bible lied? | Matt 13:55 | Emmaus | 80100 | ||
Gracefull, I see that I mispelled the source of my post.The correct source is: www.catholic.com Both sides of this issue having been stated clearly, I am finished on this subject. Any thing else you or others want to know you may find at that site. I originally just posted a link in response to someones's question precisely to avoid this kind of firestorm, but the usual hue and cry was raised. As the lone Catholic (I think)on this forum, I am not going to try and do battle with everyone else on every disputed point of doctrine. That is not my purpose for being here. Emmaus |

Word study ... adelphos, adelphe, anepsios ... Emmaus, I see that the Hebrew and Aramaic don't have a word for cousin, as far as I know. However, the NT was written in Greek, so we need to look at the Greek. Let me refresh your memory. The word for brother is adelphos, sister is adelphe ... and there is a word for cousin, it is anepsios (Col 4:10). Neither of you sites mentioned this verse. I would like you to see what is said. James, Joseph, Simon and Judas were children of Joesph and Mary, half-brothers of Jesus, based on this passage and Luke 1:25 as well as others. I have proven they could not be cousins, what do you say about this? Please don't asked me another question or skirt the issue.
