1 | Did Mary remain a virgin? | Matt 12:47 | james210 | 132898 | ||
You misunderstood what I was saying. I was saying that in v49 Jesus calls His disciples His brothers. My point is, why did he have to make such a distinction IF the people were telling Him that His disciples were outside? The 'brothers' outside could not have been His disciples, so we can eliminate that as one of the possible meanings of 'brother' in verse 47. That's all I was saying. James |

Sorry for misunderstanding you James. But, again you solidify my point. It could as easily mean Your mother and your fellow countryman from Nazareth or half brothers or cousins, etc. are outside. I infer that it means your mom and family are outside, as in Joseph's sons... then he distinguished that. I really appreciate everyone's help in clarifying this for me. I think the only clear thought is that the answer certainly doesn't detract from who Jesus was and it doesn't really add anything to His awesome nature. I will move to my next question soon! Thank you again for your help... this is a great forum! |
