1 | Are "careless words" sin? | Matt 12:36 | Mommapbs | 123903
Please explain how you find the scriptures on the Judgment seat of Christ "questionable." The Judgement seat of Christ is for the church. It is my opinion that the passage you reference in Matthew takes place after the second coming of Christ. The church has already inherited eternal life. "The nations" are those who remain after the church has been removed. Yes, Christ will indeed separate the righteous and judge those who have rejected Him, but it is my opinion that the church is not a participant in this. Blessings, mommapbs |

2 | Are "careless words" sin? | Matt 12:36 | Country Girl | 123910
I just thought of another interesting parallel: Upon thoughtful consideration of the way our God speaks to us as His children through His Word, our Bibles, I have to draw the conclusion that generally God speaks to us with great simplicity and straight forwardness. Upon describing the greatest achievement in this whole universe, its creation including the creation of man and woman, Adam and Eve, God only takes a few chapters to do so and does it with an amazing amount of simplicity. As I mentioned, I think God describes the way this universe is going to end in a rather simple manner, speaking a word like He did in the beginning and bring it to a very sudden end as depicted by His Son in Matt 24, by Paul in 1 Thes 5:2 and by Peter in 2 Pet 3:10. In contrast, men have come up with a great elaborate idea of a gradual, dramatic phasing of the end of the world and the various kinds of judgments as you've suggested. First, the rapture, then the 1000 year reign and other feautures about which I really don't know very much. All I know my Bible (and yours) teaches God is a tremendously powerful, all-knowing, all-present Being but when He deals with His creation, including you and me, He does so very simply. He created the whole universe in a mere six 24 hour days. I'm sure he can destroy it much quicker, and conduct judgment in a much faster timeframe than you and I can imagine and then proceed with the rest of His existence, whatever form that's going to take. As you said this is all opinion so what you think of mine? I hope you'll pray and study on it. Blessings to you. Country Girl |

3 | Are "careless words" sin? | Matt 12:36 | Mommapbs | 123918
Yes, we dare not limit what God can and can not do, but He has given us His Word so we CAN know more than we do right now. Indeed, study and pray. Perhaps you'll be inclinded to take a look at end time events. I agree, the future will unfold in God's way and in His timing. Being a literalist, do consider the 1000 year reign of Christ, what happens next? God's Word tells us simply and plainly in Rev 20. 'Looking at Scripture as a whole, the kingdom will be inhabited in the beginning by two categories of saints. First, there will be resurrected saints in glorified bodies like that of our Lord (Phil. 3:21). This will include Old Testament saints, church age saints (the bride of Christ), and Tribulation martyrs. Second, there will be those Tribulation saints who escaped death and were preserved through the Tribulation to go into the kingdom of our Lord (Matt. 24:13; 25:10, 30, 32-34; Rev. 14:1). These believers will have mortal bodies like ours today and during the course of the Millennium they will beget children. These children will also, regardless of the personal and glorious presence of Christ, need to receive Jesus Christ as their Savior by faith. This fact will provide the potential for a third category of people in the Millennium, unbelievers in mortal bodies, men and women susceptible to the deceptions of Satan. These will form the constituency for the last-time revolt under Satan’s final deception.' (www.bible.org/studies/nt/books/rev/jhk3/rev-30.htm ) After this, those who are faithful to Christ on the earth are separated out as you noted in your prior post and the dead are judged and forever removed from the presence of God. (Rev 20:11-15) For further study of end time events I personally like revelationcommentary.org. Blessings, mommapbs |
