1 | Honor the Sabbath | Ex 20:10 | Nicki | 54448
Yes, you are still suppose to honor the sabbath day. Although I don't do it on Sunday, I do take a day of rest. God said this because he knows we need it to to prevent burnout. In present time, there are some that take a half day, couple of hours, etc.. I am not sure about these, but yes I do take a day of rest, and I find it to be something that I need, just like God said.
2 | Honor the Sabbath | Ex 20:10 | kalos | 54458
Exodus 20 says nothing about honoring the Sabbath day. It says, "Remember the Sabath day, to keep it holy" (v.8). *Remember*, not *honor*. Sunday is not the Sabbath day. Exodus 20:10 "but the seventh day is the Sabbath..." Exodus 20:11 tells us why God wants us to remember the Sabbath. He says nothing about preventing burnout. What God does say in v. 11 is: "For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it." |

3 | Honor the Sabbath | Ex 20:10 | Nicki | 54469
The interpertation of rested? Why do you think God rested. Why do we rest? Because we are tired, if we don't like God rested, then yea, guess what, it will lead to burnout.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion. I merely point out what the Bible actually SAYS. We know what the Bible means by what it says. |
