AMPLIFIED 2015 | Exodus 20:10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath [a day of rest dedicated] to the LORD your God; on that day you shall not do any work, you or your son, or your daughter, or your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock or the temporary resident (foreigner) who stays within your [city] gates. |
Subject: Honor the Sabbath |
Bible Note: Jesus tells us to obey his commandments, if we don't we don't love him. Matthew 19:17 tells us to keep the commandments. Matthew 19:16-19 says "and, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there in none good but one, that is God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, WHich? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, htou shalt not steal, thou shalt not bear false witness, honor thy father and thy mother: and, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. Now, what commandments are those he tells us to keep? Jesus did not come to destroy the law but to fulfill. I believe that we should obey his every commandment including the 10 commandments. |
