1 | What do the 120 years pertain to? | Gen 6:3 | Teacherorr | 56014 | ||
In Gen. 6:3, the Lord said that the days of man would be 120 years. So, my question is: Does the 120 pertains to the life of man before the flood or after? Because in Gen. 5:32 it says that Noah was 500 years old when he had his sons and in chapter 7:11 it states that Noah was 600 years old when he entered the ark. |

Teacherorr I think if you do some research you will find the human body without outside pollutants and other factors will naturally last about 120 years. Please forgive me I do not have references, but I just read an article on this subject in the last 2 weeks. I’m sorry but I can’t find it now. The article went on to say if the normal rate of decay is not accelerated in some way the human body would normally be able to be functional for about 120 years. There are many factors that influence this, the biggest sin (I added this). Then things more general as pollution, environment, stress, nutrition, sanitation, etc. If I recall rightly the biggest limiting factor was things we do to our own bodies thus I felt I had the liberty to add sin to the list. :-) EdB |
