1 | God's Regard for Cain's Offering? | Gen 4:5 | ChildofGod1988 | 206020
I hear what you are saying. But again I feel that I need to point out that Abel made a sacrifice with the VERY best he had. Kain did not. When was that requirement given to man by the way?? I have another question. If a little lamb could have saved us, then why the need for Christ? It works both ways brother. We needed Christ because we need Christ. Not because a little lamb or an ear of corn would have sufficed. Thanks so much for your time, please let me know what you think about this. Agree? Disagree? God bless you for your time!! Brother in Christ, Andy |

2 | God's Regard for Cain's Offering? | Gen 4:5 | Val | 206027
At the time of Cain and Abel the sacrificial system had not been made as the covenant given to Moses I believe, had not been given. Through the study of the whole counsel of God, it is assumed that was the way to come to God. Your right an animal does not save us. What saves us is belief in Christ. I don't know how to explain it any better. I know that we are to obey God. If we believe in Him we will obey him. Somehow this sacrifice had to be blood. We see this in the Mosiac covenant as a sin sacrifice. This was before that. So it is assumed. Hebrews explains a lot about this system and how it pointed to Christ and His better covenant. As you can see from the verse about Cain being evil, that is why I am saying he did not obey and trust God. I have to look at all the bible to rightly divide it. Not that I fully understand it all but this is what I have learned so far. A study of both covenants would help you understanding it better. I am still studying it, don't know it all.
