1 | Who created evil? | Gen 3:1 | Hank | 93042
Hello, Sal. Up to now I've been quite content to read this ongoing thread without feeling inclined to splash into such deep waters. Even now, I'll be terse and toss out into the waters only a couple of small wafers that I invite you to sample. On the first wafer appears the inscription, "Why would a Holy God need evil in order to carry out His will?" And on the second wafer is inscribed the question, "Is there a distinction to be made between God's knowing what will happen and His causing it to happen?" And, Sal, note the fine print on the back of each wafer that says: "Please don't speculate but instead give sound biblical evidence to back up your answers." Cordially, and fraternally in Christ, --Hank
2 | Who created evil? | Gen 3:1 | bronx hulk | 93043
Hi Hank, Good to hear from you my brother! Wafer 1: Don't know, I'm not God. Rom 9:20-23. Why did He create man? Wafer 2: That is the eternal question isn't it? Can anyone answer that? I know that God intervenes when He sees it necessary. Prov 21:1, Gen 20:6. But as far as all the time, I don't know and I believe that that is an impossible question to answer. Anyone who does give a definate answer is foolishly assuming they know God's eternal plan in and out. Can anyone give me scriptures that support that God didn't create evil? So far no one has. Be blessed, Sal |

3 | Who created evil? | Gen 3:1 | BradK | 93073
bronx hulk, In answer to your response to Hank "Can anyone give me scriptures that support that God didn't create evil? So far no one has." I believe these scriptures provide the "source" of evil: Gen. 3:1–6; 6:5; Psalm 51:5; Mk. 7:21–23; Rom. 5:12–19; 1 Tim.6:10; 1 John 3:8, 12 (cf. Is 14:12–14; Eze 28:14–17). We also see that evil can be ascribed to; 1. The Human heart, Gen. 6:5; 8:21; Ps. 28:3; 140:2; Pr. 6:14; 2.The Human mind, Ex. 10:10; Ps. 56:5; 3.Human nature, Mt. 7:11; 12:34–35; Rom. 7:21 God allows calamity (or evil) by His permissive will as in 1 Sam. 6:9; 2 Kings 6:33; Amos 9:4 (cf. Isaiah 45:7).[NASB Topical Index] I don't know that evil can be ascribed as being "created by God." I think the question might be better phrased by which scriptures support that God DID create evil? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts or comments. Speaking the Truth In Love, BradK |

4 | Who created evil? | Gen 3:1 | bronx hulk | 93125
BradK, Thanks, I wrote down these scriptures. Give me some time to look them over. As far as wanting to hear my points, follow the study all the way up the chain and start at the first question. This got pretty in depth. Be forewarned, it will take a while!! It makes me tired just thinking about it :o) Sal |
