1 | What was the jailers response to what he | Gen 12:1 | kalos | 57626
"What was the jailers response to what he was told in the above verse?" Doctrine is established primarily by the Apostle's answer to the question in Acts 16:30, not by what the jailer did in response, which was to do as he was told: believe and be saved. Notice that Paul did not say "Believe and be baptized." What he did say was: "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved." You can never take scripture at face value, can you? You ask a question. Someone answers with a clear verse of scripture. Then you have questions about what the verse means. We know what the Bible means by what it says. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved." What part of this do you not understand? |

2 | What was the jailers response to what he | Gen 12:1 | The Bible is Right | 57634
The jailer did not know who Jesus Christ was, so how could he believe what Paul had told him with just that statement in verse 31? This is why when you read the rest of the story we learn more of what happen, and what persuaded the jailer to believe, in verse 32-33. And this is what you away deny, and you will never post the whole truth about this story. Why?
3 | What was the jailers response to what he | Gen 12:1 | srbaegon | 57643
Hello The Bible Is Right It's true that verse 32 tells us when the full explanation of salvation came to the jailer and his household, but that does not take away from the fact that believing on the Lord Jesus Christ is all that is necessary for salvation. Steve |

4 | What was the jailers response to what he | Gen 12:1 | kalos | 57644
Steve: Excellent point! The notion that in verse 32 (of Acts 16) Paul contradicts what he had just said in verse 31 is more than absurd, outrageous and ludicrous. It is moronic. Grace to you, kalos |
