Bible Question:
"AMPLIFIED Acts 16:31 ...Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ [give yourself up to Him, take yourself out of your own keeping and entrust yourself into His keeping]..." What was the jailers response to what he was told in the above verse? |
Bible Answer: "What was the jailers response to what he was told in the above verse?" Doctrine is established primarily by the Apostle's answer to the question in Acts 16:30, not by what the jailer did in response, which was to do as he was told: believe and be saved. Notice that Paul did not say "Believe and be baptized." What he did say was: "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved." You can never take scripture at face value, can you? You ask a question. Someone answers with a clear verse of scripture. Then you have questions about what the verse means. We know what the Bible means by what it says. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved." What part of this do you not understand? |
