However, 12 of the 13 times the NAS translates the word into hell, it is from Geenna, including (Matt 5:22, Jas 3:6). The meaning has not changed. Tartaroo is the other word (2 Pet 2:4). In Luke 16:19-31 Abraham's bosom and the Hades, place of torment far away from each other. They are also constrasted, as were the differences when each was alive. Just some thots, Steve |

Steve First I'm sending you a doc that will explain this. But let me say here the term Gehenna is referring to the bodies and not just souls so when used in this context it is talking of the Lake of Fire. EdB |
